Amherst College Mock Trial

On our way to the regional tournament!

Anddd we’re (finally) back with another update from Amherst Mock Trial! Our two teams just returned to campus from the American Mock Trial Association (AMTA) Regional Tournament at Boston College.

Our A Team received an honorable mention with a record of 5 wins, and our B Team won the Spirit of AMTA Award for best exemplifying the ideals of honesty, civility, and fair play. Our program also received four individual awards: Julia Finnerty ’20 earned two All-Region Witness Awards, Danielle King ’21 earned an All-Region Attorney Award, and Rose Soumare ’21 (Smith College) earned an All-Region Witness award. We are so proud of all of our members for an incredible season!

This weekend, the Amherst Mock Trial program's two teams participated in the American Mock Trial Association's Regional Tournament at Boston College.
B Team took several wins, with Alejandra Casto earning an All-Region Witness Award! A Team ended the weekend with a stellar record of 7-1, placing second place in the region and winning a bid to the Open Round Championships (the next round of AMTA's national tournament). On A Team, Margaret Chien and Julia Finnerty earned All-Region Witness Awards, and Kate Finnerty earned an All-Region Attorney Award.
