Welcome Class of 2024 :) Join us for our first event of the summer, "What I would tell my Freshman year self", held on Wednesday, July 29th from 5-7pm.
It can feel a bit daunting not knowing what to expect at BC, the rigor of the classes, and what lies ahead. We hope to ease your uncertainties by sharing our experiences. This panel will be featuring two BC Alum and three current upperclassmen students. It is an engaging panel discussion on: STEM and Pre-Health experiences at Boston College, the importance of racial representation in STEM, advice on resilience and retention in STEM and Pre-Health tracks, and choosing the right classes for you! Questions will be taken from the audience. The panel will feature the founders and E-board members and will also introduce the initiatives of SHOfA. The panel will also introduce Professor Ben Fofana, Professor Deak, and few faculty members that you may encounter at BC.
SHOfA (STEM and Health Outreach for AHANA) is a recently officiated student led organization on campus. The purpose of SHOfA is to provide an abundance of resources to BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, Person of Color), economically disadvantaged, and first-generation students enrolled or interested in a Pre-Health or STEM track.
Please be sure to register ahead for the event. Feel free to message SHOfA if you have any questions.
Stay safe and take care!
