Good evening, KCMS families,
This is Mark Buckel, the proud principal of Kent County Middle School, with your weekly Sunday update.
I would like to send a huge KCMS congratulations to all of our families who celebrated a KCHS graduate this past Friday! It truly takes a village, and our entire staff is incredibly proud of your childrenโs achievements. Congratulations to all on reaching such a significant milestone in life.
As we move into the second to last week of the school year, please remind your students that we are still hard at work here at KCMS. This week, students will participate in the end-of-year MAP assessments during their various classes. Please encourage your child to do their best on these assessments, as the results are used to help determine course placements here at the middle school and at KCHS for our rising freshmen.
Finally, I must give a tremendous KCMS shout out to our incredible staff for their hard work in making last Thursday's Field Day such a success! We owe a special debt of gratitude to Christine Clark, Steve Miller, Anna Farragher, Gil Clampitt, TyRay Johnson, and Kelley Melvin for their tireless planning and coordination. It was an "all hands on deck" performance, and we are so thankful to every staff member who managed a station and joined in the festivities! Additionally, we want to express our heartfelt thanks to Annette Duckery and the Kent County Health Department; their generous donation of the inflatables made the day even more memorable.
