Summer is going by so quickly but we are having so much fun with the themes here at CKA so far!
This week is ZOO week! We're learning about all kinds of animals and which animals are typically seen at the zoo. We took a "field trip" around the school looking at the different types of animals.
Family Night Out: STL Zoo has their Night at the Zoo on July 30th! Such a fun event to go to with the kids! 🦁🦍🐘🐵🐧🦓🦒🦛

We have been having a super fun Stars & Stripes week! We've been learning about Independence Day and being artist with our craft skills!
Yesterday we celebrated our Preschoolers for their graduation day and we are so proud of how far they have come! Most of these wonderful graduates have been with us at CKA since the baby room, it will be hard to let them go but we can't wait to see them soar!

June 1st: Summertime fun (sunglasses day)
June 8th: Heroes (dress up as a community hero or super hero)
June 15th: A day at the beach and sea (wear beach attire)
June 22nd: Camping week (wear Pj's)
June 29th: Stars and Stripes (wear red, white, and blue)
July 6th: Sports (wear jersey)
July 13th: Transportation (bike day)
July 20th: Zoo (dress up as your favorite zoo animal)
July 27th: Science camp (dress up like a scientist)
August 3rd: Around the world (research a place with your family and bring in an item to describe your place)
August 10th: Circus/End of summer (tie dye shirts)

We are so happy to announce that CKA has been reopened since May 18th! Since reopening we have been following the CDC and DHSS guidelines to ensure the safety of everyone at CKA! We're so excited to continue welcoming everyone back and for the kids to continue returning to their classrooms and seeing their friends and teachers who missed them so much!

We have been following the Missouri and St. Louis County executive orders and closely monitoring the data regarding COVID-19 cases in our area. While the curve is flattening, new cases still reported every day. As much as we are eager to reopen, we want to move forward prudently, to ensure that everyone remains safe and as free from harm as possible. Therefore, we have made another tough, but necessary decision to remain closed through May 15, and will reevaluate the situation, as we get closer to that date.

Per St. Louis County's stay-at-home order, CKA will be closed through April 22, 2020. In the meantime, our preschool class is staying connected through daily Zoom meetings with their teacher, and feel free to check back here for fun ideas, projects, etc. to do with your kiddos during the closure. Please stay connected with each other, take care of your kids and tell them that we love them and look forward to seeing them soon. Throughout the week the kiddos did a rainbow science experiment with primary colors! They watched it slowly absorb and then saw the beautiful finished product at the end of the week!
