I’ve been talking to my students about this all week! St John is the best place to park for fireworks. Easy in and easy out. You can even watch them at St. John. Come on down! It’s beautiful out here!

We'd love to sell you a parking spot this 4th of July in support of affordable arts education in our community!! PAC is St. John's annual Performing Arts Camp. Our parking lot at 405 S Fifth Street in St. Charles is just about a ten minute walk to Frontier Park and "Riverfest". Some say the view is nice from our porch too, if you'd like to stay put!

My second senior sendoff. I decided to wait until another throwback Thursday to post this one. This one is tough. I’ve been with the Kubiceks for a solid 12? years starting with Talie and moving on to Asher. He started as a bit high strung and ended up being one of the chillest people I know. I really enjoyed getting to know him this year as he tried to beat Talie in the “get Anna talking to avoid actually playing” game. Always a competition. Stay in touch Kubiceks! I’m not sure how I feel about no longer have a Kubicek in my studio. I love hearing of your travels, and I need you to teach me your ways. Current piece: Chopin Nocturne in C # minor.

My first senior send off. 🥹 I didn’t have many pictures of Kristina’s first recitals, because as you can see Kristina came to my studio as a transfer student around 2020, 2021. What a time. Am I right? Kristina is a hugely talented student participating in orchestra, St. Louis children’s choir, and of course piano. We have a shared love of musical theater, and I have caught her multiple times at shows around town. She never complains even as I harp on her about technique or fake nails. She is headed to SLU in the fall where I am sure she will be a huge success in whatever she does, because she is amazing. I have no doubt she will do great things albeit quietly and without much fuss. We could all stand to be just a bit more like Kristina. Thank you Kristina. You have made my life better just by being in it. My Tuesdays will never be the same. 💕💕💕 Kristina is currently working on Flowers from Hadestown.

I always say that my absolute favorite thing about teaching piano is watching my students grow from cute little kids getting their first taste of piano into some pretty amazing adults. Not just pianists, but adults. They leave my program more like friends, and I hope they know that I will always be there for them. After the recital, a piano parent sent me a throwback pic and I had to do a then and now pic with Ms. Mary and Ms. Sally. So here is your throwback Thursday . Also, spoiler alert, the little guy in the corner is a senior. Be sure to check in this weekend for a super special senior sendoff post. 🥹

That moment when your senior instrumentalists start to feel more like studio kids. Thanks for a great 4 years! I’ll miss you next year. Can’t wait to see what your future holds. Also thanks to your amazing teachers for sharing their students with me for a couple months every year (Stephanie Frosch, Jeff Leenhout, Gabe Mueller, Anna Seim, Kathleen Nuebling). Ended state with 10 golds and 3 silvers. Not too shabby!
