Greetings ballet family. We hope you're all enjoying your summers. Some of you have been inquiring in regard to a long overdue memorial for Miss A. While it has been our stated intention to have a celebration of her life at some point in the future, regretfully it does not appear as though we will be able to hold such an event anytime soon. This is mainly due to the distance of family, friends, and alumni spread so greatly apart across the country and also the inability of some family members to travel to St. Louis for the occasion. Many of you who knew Miss A well know that she would be happy with a simple and modest gathering, which may still be possible at a later date, but unfortunately there are no definite plans at this time. For now however, we would like to thank all of you again for the overwhelming amount of condolences and support we have received over these past six months and we welcome you to continue to share your stories or any photos you might have of Miss A in order to help preserve her memory and legacy. This page will continue to remain active and it is still our longterm goal to turn it into an online archive as we hope to eventually digitize the vast collection of photos, film, articles, and everything else documenting Miss A's extraordinary life and career. Happy Heavenly Birthday to Miss A. We miss you everyday and still can't believe you're gone. We are still hoping to have a celebration of her life soon and will keep everyone updated on a possible future date for it.

For those of you wondering, this page will continue to operate in order to preserve the memory, legacy, and amazing career of Miss A and the history of the Alexandra School of Ballet and Company. Our ultimate goal is to eventually create an online archive/museum with access to photos and videos of Miss A's life in dance and as a teacher, her various performances and achievements, as well as a detailed chronology of the company's history, it's alumni, choreographers, and everyone who was a part of Miss A's 73 year career. As you can imagine, this is a tremendously tedious task that will take quite some time to put together, but we would welcome any assistance or input anyone would like to offer once we begin working on it. Thank you!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to our ballet family. We hope that you are enjoying the spirit of the season with family, friends, and loved ones. The sympathies and condolences for Miss A have been absolutely overwhelming and we would like to thank you all for your thoughts and prayers and for sharing your wonderful memories of her.
This was the last photo ever taken of Miss A shortly before her passing. As many of you know, Miss A absolutely loved nutcrackers and The Nutcracker ballet was her favorite performance. For 50 years Miss A presented the magic of The Nutcracker to everyone at holiday time and she loved seeing the joy that it brought to generations of people of all ages who made it an annual tradition every year to see it, many of which were inspired to learn dance from her and be in the performance themselves. Miss A also loved collecting nutcrackers and over the years built up an extensive collection which she would proudly display in her home every year at Christmas. (The one pictured was given to her by the ladies of the Philoptichos society at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church.) Best Christmas wishes to everyone and all the best of luck in the new year!🎄🎁🎅⛄️

It is with great profound sadness that we inform our ballet family that our very own and beloved Miss A passed away this morning at age 95 after a brief illness. The impact she made on the dance community and the countless lives she touched throughout her 70 plus years of teaching will forever be remembered by all who knew her. The generations of students she shaped into the incredible talents they've become will always be a testament to her own amazing talents and abilities and they will carry on her legacy long into the future. We ask that you please keep Miss A's family and friends in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. A special celebration of her life will be held at a date to be announced. All will be welcomed to attend.

Holiday Greetings everyone!
We hope you're all doing well and are enjoying time together with your families and friends! It has been quite the year for Miss A as she continues to enjoy her retirement. She is now residing at Ackert Park retirement home in University City, right around the corner from COCA and Wash U, and ironically very close to where one of her original studios on Delmar Blvd. was at one time way back when. Anyone is welcome to visit her and she would love to see you! For now, she would like to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas and the Happiest of New Year's!!🎄🎁🎅☃️❄️

Miss A would like to thank everyone for all of the kind birthday wishes and thoughtful cards and gifts! It always means so much to her every year being reminded of how many wonderful people whom she's known and worked with throughout her career, and it especially means alot as she heads into retirement! While she may be retiring, she will not be quitting the ballet world entirely. Ballet and dance will always be her life's passion and she looks forward to seeing future performances from the audience as opposed to in the wings for a change. She also is looking forward to having more time to spend with friends and family and would like to wish all of you continued best of luck into the new year!
