We will convene the final General Membership Meeting of the PTA at the end-of-the-year picnic tomorrow, May 23rd. All those interested in participating, please plan to congregate in the back corner of the bus loop, near the building/basketball court around 6:15pm. We will take care of two very important bits of business at this final meeting:

- Officer Elections for the 23/24 School Year (As of now, we are missing 1 PTA role - Treasurer, this is a required role as indicated by the bylaws in order to have PTA).
- Budget motion for a large additional expenditure given our stellar performance to plan this year.

If you can attend, please gather 'round to participate!

05/22/2023

Crestwood 2022/2023 yearbooks were distributed today and will be coming home before the End of Year Picnic tomorrow. We hope you enjoy them!

As a reminder, the cover for this year's yearbook was designed by the 5th Grade students and we think they did a great job!

Thanks so much to anyone who contributed to this project by responding to our calls for pictures, helping with design or logistics of the ordering process. The yearbook is designed by volunteers and PTA offers is as a service (not a fundraiser since we sell it near the cost).

A huge thank you to the Crestwood Elementary School students, faculty, and parents for making the Disney Musical at School a success. It was a truly magical experience, and we are so proud of what we accomplished together.

Photos from Crestwood Elementary School, Richmond, VA's post 05/18/2023

What an amazing night at Crestwood yesterday! Thank you to all of your hard work and dedication in making the Jungle Book Disney Musical at School a success. The show was absolutely amazing, and it could not have been possible without the talent, hard work, and commitment of everyone involved.

The students were incredible. They worked so hard to learn their lines, songs, and choreography. From the auditions to the final performance, they all poured their hearts into bringing the magic of Disney to life on stage.

Our exceptional faculty of Crestwood Elementary School, lead by Mr. Coyle, Mrs. Knight and Mrs. Mawyer, thank you for your unwavering commitment to the students and their artistic development. You guided them with passion and expertise, fostering their talents and encouraging them to reach for the stars. Your countless hours of rehearsals, late nights, and tireless efforts were not unnoticed. Your dedication to making this Disney Musical a success is truly commendable.

The parents were also a huge part of the success of the show. They volunteered their time to help with everything from costumes, make up to set design. They were always there to cheer on the students, and they created a positive and supportive environment.

Together, we navigated uncharted territory, and the result was nothing short of magical. The memories created, the friendships forged, and the invaluable life lessons learned will stay with us all forever.

Share your pictures in comments or email to [email protected] to include them in the next year's yearbook.

The PTA is in its nominating cycle for next year for its officer roles, which are elected positions for one year terms. We especially need to fill the following roles: Treasurer, Recording Secretary, Corresponding Secretary (Marketing), and VP of Ways & Means.

We cannot have a PTA next year unless these are filled. Most roles would require 1-3 hour commitment per month.

If you have interest in (or questions) about any of these roles, please let the nominating committee know at: [email protected].

03/31/2023

Sooo much lost and found! Please send your child to fetch their items. If that won’t work, please comment under the right video (too many black coats and hoodies to do it all together), and I will get it to them.

Leftovers will be donated approximately 2 weeks after break!

Also, our garment rack died of old age. If you happen to have a sturdy one you’d like to donate, we would be forever grateful!

We came up with 5 ideas, but you are welcome to propose yours that we can review. We ask that each craft is nature related.

Parents, Crestwood PTA is looking into enhancing our spirit wear collection. What items would you like to see added that you would be willing to purchase? Since we just did t-shirts for the Winterfest, we were hoping for something else...

We could possibly look into a limited edition item specific to the Nature Fair (spirit wear sells typically bring $250-$400 in proceeds so that would help offset the cost for the program).

We are really excited to host the Family Spring Dance today! The door opens at 6pm and the event will end at 7:30pm.

Here are some helpful information:

🌼 This is a family event, so parents/supervisors are expected to remain with their student(s) at all times. No drop off. Siblings are welcome to attend, but due to limited space and expected participation, no extended family at this event.

🌼 Students are welcome to dress up or wear something comfortable. There is no strict dress code for this event. Come and have fun!

🌼 There are no concessions offered. Please make sure your student brings a bottle of water and plan food accordingly (bring a small snack or have a dinner before attending).

🌼 Seating for parents will be available in the Cafeteria and in the hallway.

🌼 Please remain at the event venue and make sure your students do not walk around the building. Be respectful of the property and decorations so we can enjoy them at the future events.

Thank you! We can't wait to see everyone. Music games are planned by Mr. Coyle and Dr. Porzio and will be FREE to participate.

Crestwood E.S. is excited to invite you to participate in our upcoming Nature Fair event at Crestwood, scheduled for Sat. May 6th from 11am - 2pm. The event will feature a craft show to showcase the talent of local artisans and craftspeople. This is a great opportunity to promote your business and reach new customers in the local community.

We are looking for vendors who create unique and high-quality handmade items, such as jewelry, pottery, textiles, woodwork, and more. We welcome all types of crafts and would love to have a diverse selection of vendors to showcase the creativity of our local community.

Participation in the craft show is only $5, which includes a space to display and sell your goods. The event will be held outside (moved indoors in case of inclement weather). We encourage vendors to bring a canopy, table, and chairs to set up their display. All vendors are responsible for collecting and reporting their own sales tax.

The Nature Fair event is expected to attract a large number of local families and outdoor enthusiasts, making it a great opportunity to showcase your products and reach a new audience. We will be promoting the event through social media, flyers, and local media outlets to ensure maximum exposure for all participating vendors.

If you're interested in participating in the craft show, please contact us by filling up this form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSewl6xxjB_cZzj7kHbdtFYvzb3P8ga2MnCud9DY93DEGoAhwQ/viewform
