This week REC welcomes 3 ECSE Teachers, 1 EC Tescher, 4 Speech Language Pathologists, 2 Physical Therapists, and 1 Social Worker to our team! We couldn’t be more excited to have each and every one of them here with us 💙⭐️

Dr. Loretta Dunkmann, coordinator of Special Education Processes and Diagnostic for Rockwood Early Childhood Education, has been selected to serve on the Missouri Council of Administrators of Special Education (MO-CASE) Board of Directors! MO-CASE represents more than 900 members across Missouri and provides leadership, professional learning and advocacy on issues related to special education.

Selection to the board reflects the high regard in which Loretta is held as a leader in the field, and her service offers the opportunity to help shape advocacy efforts for students with disabilities and the educators who serve them, support high-quality professional learning for members across the state and collaborate with partner organizations to strengthen special education services throughout Missouri.

The class focuses on beginning social interactions, sensory motor exploration, and play experiences to promote language, motor and cognitive skills while nurturing and supporting their emotional development.

⭐️ Children must be age 30 months by the start of the session.
⭐️ Mini-Preschool takes place at all three Early Childhood Center locations.
⭐️ Class size is limited to 10.

There are some changes to the registration process that we are wanting families to be aware of as we head into registration season. All pricing, offerings, and registration form can be found on the website. https://earlychildhood.rsdmo.org/preschool/mini-preschool

Registration Process
Mini Preschool registration will take place this year through an easy-to-use Google Form. Once enrollment opens (July 20 at 8am) the registration link will be available on our district website under the mini preschool page. It will also be linked on our social media pages. We’re excited to help families prepare for another wonderful year of mini preschool!

Lottery Enrollment Process for Mini Preschool:
The Rockwood Early Childhood program uses a lottery system to make enrollment fair for all families. When you submit your application during the enrollment window, your child’s name is entered into the lottery. After the lottery is held, families will be notified if their child received a spot or has been placed on a waitlist. If a space opens up, we’ll contact families from the waitlist in the order they were drawn.

Once the email confirming placement is sent by our registrar, families who do not have information in the infinite campus platform, will have 48 hours to complete this and submit all necessary documents to confirm your placement. If you have a returning student this will not need to be completed.

Our Lunch Bunch Program bridges the gap between our morning and afternoon half day preschool sessions, meaning no mid-day pickup for families. It’s also a perfect standalone extension for afternoon students. Children bring their lunch from home, eat with their peers, and enjoy more socialized playtime. It’s a wonderful opportunity for your child to practice independent mealtime skills, socialize with a wide variety of peers, and ease into a longer school day.
