Chester Academy welcomed our 6th graders and new students today! Students had the opportunity to meet members of the Chester Academy community, receive their schedules from our guidance counselors, pick up their Chromebooks, move into their lockers, and get comfortable navigating their new surroundings. A special thank you to our student volunteers who provided tours of the building and helped make our newest Hambletonians feel right at home. We’re excited to welcome our students and look forward to a fantastic school year ahead! 📚✨

This week, a team of Chester teachers and administrators participated in two full days of professional development focused on Project-Based Learning (PBL).

Through collaboration, creativity, and reflective practice, our team explored ways to create authentic learning experiences that engage students, challenge them to think critically, communicate and collaborate, apply their learning to real-world questions and challenges, and take greater ownership of their learning.

We are grateful to our teachers and administrators for their time, leadership, and commitment to learning and growing together as we advance our work aligned with NY Inspires and the New York State Portrait of a Graduate. Together, we are inspiring minds, empowering voices, and creating possibilities!

Throwback Thursday: We’re looking back and celebrating our incredible Class of 2026 New York State Seal of Biliteracy recipients! Congratulations to the students who earned the prestigious Seal of Biliteracy in English/Spanish and English/Russian, demonstrating exceptional proficiency in two languages.

As part of the certification process, students confidently presented their culminating projects in both languages, showcasing not only their linguistic skills but also their dedication, cultural understanding, and academic excellence. A heartfelt thank you to our Seal of Biliteracy Committee and the dedicated panelists who generously volunteered their time and expertise to evaluate our students’ presentations. Your support helped make this achievement possible.
