The Tutoring Center, Chester NJ

The Tutoring Center, Chester NJ The Tutoring Center, Chester NJ has been in operation since 2017! We help our students in the areas Third, your child will gain more confidence and motivation.

At THE TUTORING CENTER, we have a clear mission for every child who studies with us. First, your child will develop stronger academic skills in Reading, Math, and Writing. Second, your child will develop better concentration, focus, and attention span. Fourth, your child will develop stronger Test-Taking and Study Skills. None of our competitors in the after-school learning industry can offer a mi

ssion this comprehensive, and none of them can deliver the results that we can. Simply put, I want to give your child the same help and intervention we've given thousands of other successful children since 1994 when we opened up our first center in Ventura County, California. I feel strongly that in today's competitive academic environment, every child requires some form of outside academic assistance - whether they are having difficulty or excelling in the classroom. But most importantly, the earlier your children get started with us, the more they will excel and the less chance they have to develop poor work habits and weak academic skills. When you enroll with us, you will help turn your child's future from a day-to-day challenge into a lifelong success story. Best Regards,

Dr. Thalheimer, Founder and President

Did you know many students lose points on tests because of simple mistakes, not because they don’t know the material?

Here are 3 common test-day mistakes to avoid:

1️⃣ Spending too long on one question
2️⃣ Forgetting to guess if you don’t know the answer
3️⃣ Not double-checking your bubbling

✔️ Smart test-taking strategies can help students earn easy points and boost their confidence on exams.

At The Tutoring Center – Chester, NJ, we help students learn both the material and the strategies they need to succeed.

Say hi to one of our best and brightest, Perry! Perry is a fantastic instructor and an incredibly nice guy. Learn more about him below!

--Do you have any good book recommendations for our students?--

"If you are into the fantasy genre, the Eragon series (The Inheritance Cycle) includes great young adult books. It has the entire package of elves, dragons, magic, battles, great plot twists, and much more. A very thrilling read if you ask me!"

--Favorite Season?--

"Winter. The white pristine snow on a December morning always makes me stare in awe. The stark contrast of pure white to the usual toned-down hues of brown and green really serves as a shock to me every year."

--What bit of advice can you give to our students?--

"I would suggest pursuing what you are passionate about. Whether it’s a hobby or a sport, you’ll be able to find happiness in it. A passion can turn a boring day into an interesting one and can even serve as a potential future career."

--Favorite musical artist/band?--

"My favorite music genres are electronic and rock. I like fast-paced music with varied melodies!"

--What's your favorite subject in school?--

"My favorite class is app development. The class showed me that I could create a wide range of apps that could be useful for day-to-day activities. Interesting!"

--What about being a tutor excites you?--

"First, I’m interested in meeting new people. Learning more about new personalities and lives brings new perspectives into my own life. It’s also a thrill to help students get that ‘aha’ moment in learning or understanding a new topic. As a tutor, I feel that it’s great that I can personally see and improve their growth as students!"

It's been a while since we've talked about one of our staff members, so we'll kick off today with one of the best we've ever had! Say hi to Luke! Learn more about him below.

--What's your favorite class in school?--
"My favorite class in school is currently Biotechnology. This science course is unlike any that I have taken in the past, as it is entirely hands-on and lab-based, comparable to what a university lab course would be like. So far, I have been able to perform exciting experiments like DNA extraction from a strawberry and gel electrophoresis, with even more fascinating topics (like CRISPR gene editing) coming soon."

--Spring, Summer, Fall, or Winter?
"I have been fortunate enough to travel to many different places across the country and world over my summer breaks, so summer is definitely my favorite holiday. I have toured the Palace of Versailles, walked inside the Korean DMZ, and performed service work at an orphanage in Costa Rica. My travels have taught me so much about the amazing world that we live in, and I would not trade these experiences for anything."

--If you could meet any person, living or dead, whom would it be?
"If I could meet any person, I would choose to meet United Airlines CEO Scott Kirby. As can probably be determined by my response above, I love travel and everything about it. This love includes airplanes, airports, and the logistics of travel as a whole, and I would love to sit down with Mr. Kirby to talk about the considerations that go into his airline’s pricing, route map, airplane purchases, etc."

--What is your favorite sports team?
"For as many autumn Saturdays as I can remember, I have sat myself down on the couch (or, a couple of times, headed into Beaver Stadium) to cheer on the Penn State Nittany Lions football team. Especially in recent years, the Nittany Lions have been exciting to watch and have played in numerous New Year's Six bowl games, and, hopefully, a trip to the College Football Playoff is in their future."

--What about being a tutor excites you?--
"There are many aspects of being a tutor that excite me. First and foremost, nothing compares to the feeling of when something I am teaching finally clicks with a student. It is incredible to be able to help local students succeed and learn, and I am so happy to be a part of The Tutoring Center’s great staff that gets the job done. Also, as this is my first job, being a tutor has taught me fiscal responsibility as well as soft skills like time management and creative thinking, which are essential to any career."

The Summer Slide... it's not a myth!

The overwhelming majority of students (especially younger students), loses somewhere between 25 and 30 percent of their academic skills from the year before.

The best way to prevent learning loss is to keep the mind active! That's where we can help!

Here's how much knowledge kids really lose by September, and what you can do about it.
