Hi, I’m Meghan, owner of the Art Academy of Morris County (and our mascot Stanley).

I had the opportunity to train under Kevin Murphy in Hillsborough which is something that shaped the foundation of everything I do now. His school, now led by his daughter Halley, is where my understanding of art truly began.

When I came to Kevin, I already had oil paintings that were well done…but they were missing a level of professionalism and real, applied education. If you gave me a reference image, I could get pretty close to replicating it. But the truth is, I was frustrated the entire time.

I couldn’t tell you how or why I got from A to Z.
And I didn’t enjoy painting.

After a few years in the program, and especially after the advanced techniques summer intensive, everything clicked. I finally understood what I was doing.

I wasn’t the same artist, or the same person, after that.

That experience is the reason this school exists.

It doesn’t matter if you’re experienced or a complete beginner. If you’ve gone looking for lessons, there’s a reason. And I’m telling you, this kind of training will give you what you’re missing.
