Since morning temperatures are below freezing tomorrow leading to icy road conditions CUMCPS will be closed tomorrow, Tuesday, January 4th. Hope to see everyone on Wednesday. Stay safe and warm.

We are looking for a fun, nurturing individual to be an assistant in one of our 3 year old classes. Hours are Tuesday-Thursday from 8:30-2:00. Please email [email protected] if interested.

We are gearing up for the 2021-2022 school year! Our first day will be on Monday, August 30th for the 4’s and JK students and Tuesday, August 31st for the 3’s. As of today August 11th, the Department of Education (DOE)states masks are recommended for children ages 2 and older when indoors. It also states that adults/staff in childcare settings are required to wear face masks, regardless of vaccination status. Please know that the DOE can change policies at anytime and I will communicate changes with you through Brightwheel.

We do have a supply list this year and it is as follows:
Disinfecting wipes
Box of tissues
Play-Doh
Lysol spray
A plastic shoe storage box
Your child will also need a backpack, lunchbox and reusable water bottle.

We will have our Back to School night for parents on August 26th from 6:00-7:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary and our Meet the teacher for the children August 27th from 10:00-11:00 a.m. in the child’s classroom.

Chester United Methodist Church Preschool in Chester, Virginia (12132 Percival St) is seeking a Virginia Certified teacher for its new 2021-22 Kindergarten class. They value a nurturing, experienced teacher who desires a small class size (up to 12) and working 4 days a week.



The church is also currently accepting applications for teacher and assistant teacher positions for the upcoming school year. They are looking for nurturing, team players to join the CUMCPS family.

I am excited to announce the Kindergarten has been approved. So some of the details are as follows:

Start Date: Aug 30th
End Date: May 26th
Time: 8:30-3:00
Days: Monday- Thursday
Cost: $5400 for the year or $600 per month
Curriculum: Still looking into this but am figuring the cost for student items will be around $200, it will be Christian based.

The children attending our Kindergarten will need to take an entrance exam for Chesterfield County Schools to ensure they are ready for 1st grade. (I know they will be) The maximum number of students allowed in this class will be 12 and there will be an assistant in the class also, for a ratio of 1:6. I am excited to announce we are currently taking registrations for the 2021-2022 school year. Unfortunately we will not be offering a toddler class this year but will offer classes for 3's, 4's and JK. You can print the forms from our website or can come by the preschool to pick up forms.
