ARMY ROTC OFFICIAL FACEBOOK PAGE-WIDENER UNIVERSITY Widener University is the host with cadre also instructing at Villanova, and West Chester Universities.

The Dauntless Battalion traces its history to the Cadets of the Pennsylvania Military College (1821-1972), the Pioneer Battalion (1973-2005) and the Freedom Battalion (2005-2012). Students at Neumann, Penn State-Abington, Penn State-Brandywine, Cheyney, and Immaculata Universities also participate in ROTC through the Dauntless Battalion. While this is an open forum, it's also a family friendly one, so please keep your comments and wall posts clean. In addition to keeping it family friendly, we ask that you follow our posting guidelines here. Posts will be removed if they violate the guidelines listed below.

One month in the Emergency Department at Martin Army Community Hospital (Fort Benning, GA) is officially in the books for CDT Isabella Belville! 🏥⚡️

As part of the Army Nurse Summer Training Program ( ), CDT Belville traded her familiar classrooms at West Chester University of PA for the fast-paced world of military medicine.

She was thrown right into the action from day one, gaining incredible hands-on experience and checking off major clinical milestones. A few highlights from her time in the ED included:

🪡 Advanced Procedures: Assisting with a spinal tap and learning how to suture wounds.
🩻 Tech & Diagnostics: Mastering ultrasound-guided IV inserts and running EKGs under pressure.
🐶 ED Comfort: Getting some much-needed stress relief from the amazing ED support dogs during their rounds. 🐾

CDT Belville is incredibly grateful to the phenomenal active duty and civilian healthcare teams who mentored her, pushed her out of her comfort zone, and showed her what it truly means to practice medicine on the front lines.

West Chester University Nursing is getting back a student with a whole new level of confidence. Belville is officially ready for whatever comes next! ℞☤🩺👩🏻‍⚕️💊

Yesterday, May 21st, the Dauntless Battalion Bravo Company commissioned three cadets as 2nd Lieutenants!

The ceremony took place in the Saint Thomas of Villanova Church. Maj. Gen. (Ret.) Richard Longo delivered an inspiring speech, drawing on more than three decades of Army leadership experience to challenge the newly commissioned officers to lead with character, humility, and commitment to those they will serve. Father Peter Donohue delivered the benediction, offering prayers and blessings for the new officers as they begin their service in the Army.

Congratulations and good luck as you begin your careers! Hooah!

Yesterday, May 15th, the Dauntless Battalion Alpha Company and Charlie Company MS4s were commissioned into the United States Army as 2nd Lieutenants. Command Sergeant Major (Ret) Mario Terenas served as our guest speaker and delivered a powerful message on leadership, service, and the responsibility that comes with becoming an Army officer. This milestone marks the end of their time as cadets in ROTC and their entrance into military service in an active, reserve, or national guard capacity.

Congratulations to these remarkable individuals and good luck to them as they begin their careers! Hooah, class of 2026!

Senior Spotlight: CDT Conall Dougherty!💡

CDT Dougherty is a Criminology major from Brielle, NJ. He will be commissioning as an active duty Logistics officer. Here’s what he has to say about his favorite memory during his time in Dauntless:

“My favorite ROTC memory was participating in the Night Owl Crucible event at Temple University my freshmen year. It was challenging and tested my fortitude, which I really enjoyed.”

CDT Reilly is a Finance major from Mullica Hill, NJ. He will be commissioning as an active duty Infantry officer. Here’s what he has to say about his favorite memory during his time in Dauntless:

“One of my favorite memories comes from my time at advanced camp, getting to run an Ambush as a PL during the FTX. There’s nothing more fun than waiting silently in concealment and then watching the M240s rip, with a successful outcome for the mission.”

“My favorite ROTC memory was during my sophomore year at Fort Indiantown Gap. We were lucky enough to fly in black hawk helicopters, it was my first time in a helicopter and it was amazing to fly sideways over the mountains. Also this past year completing the Norwegian Foot March with my sister was incredible. ”

“My favorite ROTC memory was being able to run point as the OIC of the Military Ball (AlaimoBall) this past winter! It was an incredibly rewarding experience to see my hard work come to life in an event where the MSIVs were honored for their commitment to this program and to see everyone have so much fun!”
