Thank you to all of our choristers, staff, musicians, and—especially—our incredible cooks, whose hard work made Choir Camp such a beautiful and smoothly run week.
Ludwig van Beethoven once remarked, “Music is a higher revelation than all wisdom and philosophy.” Indeed, the greatest revelation of all—our Lord Jesus Christ—was proclaimed in song: the Magnificat of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the chorus of the heavenly host over the fields of Bethlehem, and the lullaby sung to the Divine Infant.
That sacred music has echoed through the centuries—from the eightfold daily offices of monks interceding for the whole of creation to the sublime beauty of English Evensong. It is a living tradition, entrusted to each new generation to read, mark, learn and sing.
