From Widener to Washington! 🏛️💙💛

Widener OT took advocacy beyond the classroom at AOTA Hill Day! Our students and faculty had the opportunity to experience advocacy in action, engage in conversations about issues impacting occupational therapy, and see firsthand how OT voices can be part of the legislative process.

Our second-year Widener OT students had an amazing time connecting with the community at the Drexelbrook Senior Expo! 💙💛

Students put their OT skills into action by completing vital sign checks, fall risk assessments, grip strength testing, and cognitive screenings. They also got everyone moving with chair yoga 🧘🏽‍♀️ and line dancing! 💃🏽🕺🏽

A great day of promoting health, wellness, fall prevention, and meaningful activity while gaining hands-on experience with older adults! 🧠💪🏽✨

From the classroom to the community 🌎💙💛 Widener OT students are making a difference in Belize! 🇧🇿

Through service, connection, compassion, and hands-on learning, our students had the opportunity to use the power of occupational therapy to support children and families while growing into more culturally responsive future clinicians. 🫶🏽

So proud of the impact they made and the memories, lessons, and relationships they’re bringing home. This is OT beyond borders! 🌍✨

Learning doesn't always happen in the classroom! 🌳🛝

Our OT1 students headed to the playground with Dr. Keene and Dr. Navarro-Walker to put **activity analysis** into action! From climbing and swinging to balancing and sliding, students explore how occupations can be graded and adapted for clients of all ages.

Because sometimes the best classroom is a playground. 💙💛

🎉🧠 Big accomplishment unlocked! 🧠🎉

Our OTII students are now officially **Certified Youth Mental Health First Aiders**! 💙

Through this training, they have gained the skills to recognize, support, and respond to young people experiencing mental health challenges and crises. As future occupational therapists, they are committed to promoting mental health, well-being, inclusion, and meaningful participation in everyday life.
