🎨 Process Art vs. Arts & Crafts 💙

There’s a difference, and it matters.

Arts and crafts often focus on following steps to create a finished product.

Process art focuses on the experience.

Children get to:

✨ Experiment with new ideas
✨ Create without a “right” answer

Today, our little scientists explored the exciting “Dancing Rice” experiment! 🌾🧪

The children combined water, white vinegar, and baking soda before adding rice to observe what would happen. As the baking soda and vinegar reacted, they created tiny carbon dioxide bubbles that attached to the rice, causing it to rise to the surface. Once the bubbles popped, the rice sank back down, creating the appearance that it was dancing!

This hands-on science activity encouraged curiosity, observation, prediction, and critical thinking while introducing the children to the concept of simple chemical reactions. Learning through exploration is one of our favorite ways to inspire a lifelong love of discovery! ✨
