Summer Spotlight: Mrs. Baird!

We’re excited to welcome Mrs. Rebecca Baird, our new School Secretary, to the St. Elizabeth family!

As she begins her first year with us, Mrs. Baird is already enjoying one of the best parts of being at St. Elizabeth: meeting the wonderful people who make this community what it is. We’re looking forward to getting to know her just as much!

Her summer essentials include travel articles about France, pickled veggies, and plenty of Radiohead, especially when she’s driving with her teenage son. 🇫

We’re so happy to have you at St. Elizabeth, Mrs. Baird! 💙💛

Summer Spotlight: Ms. Hickey!

This week, we’re getting to know Ms. Meghan Hickey, our 2nd Grade teacher!

There’s a lot to love about second grade, but for Ms. Hickey, it’s the relationships that make the year so special; watching her students grow, gain confidence, and discover what they’re capable of.

Her favorite verse, Matthew 5:9, feels especially fitting for a her students who present the Saints, and prepare for Reconciliation and Holy Eucharist:
“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.”

This summer’s essentials? Ice cream, a good book, and some American Cars by Noah Kahan with the windows down.

We’re grateful for the patience, encouragement, and steady presence Ms. Hickey brings to her classroom every day.

⚾ Summer Spotlight: Mrs. Nangle!

Get to know Mrs. Jennifer Nangle, who teaches our students in Grades 5–8.

One of the things she enjoys most about teaching is those “aha” moments; when something clicks and she gets to watch a student grow in confidence and ability. Those moments are often the little reminders of why teachers do what they do.

Her summer lineup includes People We Meet on Vacation, some good seafood, and “Better You for Me” by Max McNown with the windows down, while rooting for the Phillies all summer long.

We’re grateful for the experience, encouragement, and genuine care Mrs. Nangle brings to our middle school students!

Summer Spotlight: Sr. Hannah!

St. Elizabeth Parish School is blessed to have Sr. Hannah Miller, I.H.M., on staff, teaching students Faith Enrichment. She finds so much joy in working with children, while bringing so much joy to the staff with her sense of humor, faith, and eagerness to lend a helping hand. Sr. Hannah is one of those people who feels like she has always been a part of St. Elizabeth. We wish her many more days of Rita's Water Ice before the start of a new school year.

St. Elizabeth Parish School is grateful for our Facilities Staff, who spend the summer season cleaning, moving, buffing, waxing, repairing and beautifying our campus to welcome our students and teachers back in the Fall. We truly have the Dream Team in Mr. Frank, Mr. Robert, Mr. Jim, and Mr. Ron under the management of Mr. John. The sweat, work ethic and love they pour into every corner of our school allows our students and teachers to enter these halls with pride.

You can see the new life in our school yard which has been resurfaced and enhanced with new stencils for our play area. New recess equipment has been ordered along with cabinets for safe storage. Our windows are sparkling clean thanks to a thorough summer cleaning. New cement work has been completed at our front and back entrances. New window treatments have been added to our second floor classrooms as part of a multi-phase renovation project.

Mrs. Fitzpatrick has also poured love into redecorating our office and surrounding areas, sorting books, planning schedules, designing bulletin boards and all the organizing that goes into a new school year.

As our 2026-2027 theme reminds us, "Let us love one another, for love comes from God." We are blessed to have so much love for our students and families at St. Elizabeth Parish School.

Summer Spotlight: Mrs. Mermelstein!

She brings a wonderful mix of patience, warmth, humor, and heart to her classroom, helping our youngest Spartans feel comfortable being themselves while learning how to be part of something bigger.

Her philosophy is one we love: love God, love one another, and keep showing up.

We’re lucky to have Mrs. Mermelstein helping our littlest learners begin their St. Elizabeth journey! As August carries on, she reminds us to roll down the windows and "take it easy." 🎵🎶

Get to know Mrs. Emily Gabrysiak, one of the smiling faces helping our youngest Spartans learn, grow, and have plenty of fun along the way!

In her favorite verse, Mrs. Gabrysiak brings the message of hope and character. She plays an important role in our Prek, and enjoys her time with her students who are as cute as that baby playing Croquet in the photo she shared!

We are so lucky to have Mrs. Gabrysiak on the Spartans Staff.

Summer Spotlight: Mrs. Nemic!

Ask her students what they love about Mrs. Melissa Nemic, and you’ll quickly realize that third grade is about much more than lessons and assignments. She has a gift for making students feel known, encouraged, and genuinely excited to learn. Her favorite part of teaching is finding new ways to make learning fun and watching students open up, make connections, and discover something they enjoy.

Her favorite verse, Ephesians 4:32, says:

“Be kind to one another, compassionate, forgiving one another as God has forgiven you in Christ.”

It’s a fitting verse for a teacher whose classroom is built around connection, kindness, and joy.

This summer: Wolf by Wolf, cucumber and tomato salad, and “Meant to Live” by Switchfoot on repeat.

We’re pretty sure her students would agree; Mrs. Nemic is one of a kind. 💚

St. Elizabeth and Mrs. Lori Holmes go together like summer and acai bowls!

Mrs. Holmes loves celebrating the big and little wins with her students, building relationships along the way.

Her favorite Scripture, John 13:34, says it beautifully: “Just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.”

We’re grateful for the love, encouragement, and joy Mrs. Holmes brings to her classroom each day!
