This allows for maximum flexibility for kids who are training for the Olympics, acting in a Broadway play or other commitments that prevent them from working a traditional school schedule. My 8th grader may pretend to not care about school, but he certainly woke up early today. It was still dark when he came downstairs, dressed like someone who didn't bother to turn on the light when picking out his clothes. Little kids, little problems. Big kids, bigger problems. Pandemic learning, sneaky kid problems. Until the district gave my son an iPad, I could manage what sites he visited and for how long easily on my phone. Unfortunately, my parental controls don’t work on devices I don’t own. Pretty quickly, we realized that his “English” homework was really him sneaking in thirty or sixty minutes of Star Wars videos and cartoons on YouTube. [ 668 more words ]
