Is your Student looking for a volunteer opportunity? For resumes? For College Applications? For National Honor Society? Or just because you're raising an awesome human? Then check out the opportunity below!

You're Invited: Help Build Berkshire County's First NinjaFit Playground!

Join the Town of Lee alongside Neighborhood Ninjas, local businesses, and community volunteers as we come together to build Berkshire County's first NinjaFit Playground: A 15-obstacle course designed to fill a gap in traditional recreation by providing a free outdoor fitness space created with teens, adults, and families in mind, while remaining accessible to younger children and older adults.

After seeing the success of Neighborhood Ninjas' first NinjaFit Playground Project in Wilmington, Delaware, the Town of Lee and Lee Youth Commission invited the nonprofit to bring the concept to Berkshire County. Beyond open play, Neighborhood Ninjas will offer free community programming throughout the year, including youth mentorship, family events, adult fitness classes, senior wellness programs, and more.

The Community Build Day will transform the site through the efforts of local businesses, organizations, and volunteers working side by side to create a lasting community resource.

Volunteers of all skill levels are welcome - no construction experience is necessary. Community members interested in volunteering can sign up here. Whether you can join us for a full shift or just a few hours, we'd love to have you on the team!

We're incredibly grateful to the dozens of businesses, foundations, organizations, and individuals who have helped make this project possible. Seniors, it's your turn!

One of Hoosac Valley High School's favorite senior traditions is back... Senior Painted Parking Spots!

Show off your creativity and leave your mark on campus by designing and painting your very own reserved parking space for the 2026–2027 school year. Whether your design reflects your future plans, favorite hobbies, school spirit, or something uniquely you, this is your chance to make your parking spot your own!

Here's what you need to know:
πŸŽ“ Open to Class of 2027 seniors
πŸš— Reserve your personalized parking spot for $30
πŸ“ Reserved spots will be located in the back parking lot
🎨 Painting dates will be announced in August
βœ… All designs must be submitted to the Main Office for approval before painting
πŸ–ŒοΈ Students provide their own paint and supplies

Not only is this a fun senior tradition, but it also helps support the Class of 2027!

πŸ› **Wait... don't touch the green caterpillars around Hoosac!** πŸŒ³πŸ‘€

If you've spotted bright green "caterpillars" attached to trees around our campus, you might be wondering what's going on.

The answer? **Real science is happening at Hoosac Valley!** πŸ”¬

We're excited to partner with the Biology Department at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts on a hands-on research internship for one of our Environmental Pathway students, **Olivia**, who is working alongside Professor Golub on a study with national implications.

These aren't real caterpillarsβ€”they're carefully crafted clay models used by scientists to study how birds and other predators hunt insects. Tiny bite marks left behind help researchers identify predator activity and better understand ecosystems right here in the Northern Berkshires.

This project is part of a larger research collaboration with the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, helping develop authentic scientific investigations that can be used to train the next generation of scientists in both high schools and colleges.

πŸ“ **If you see these green caterpillars on trees around campus, please admire themβ€”but don't touch or move them!** Every model is an important piece of data, and your help allows our student researchers to collect accurate results.

We're incredibly proud to provide opportunities where Hoosac students aren't just learning scienceβ€”they're **doing science**. 🌎πŸ§ͺπŸ’š
