I have some big news that I’ve been sharing this week: this school year will be my last at Hickory High School.

I’ll be starting a new chapter in life: Moving to Chesterfield, Virginia to be with the love of my life.

It’s impossible to fully put into words what the past 20 years at HHS have meant to me. Teaching generations of students, making music together, laughing together, growing together, and building our loving community have been some of the greatest privileges of my life. “Bittersweet” doesn’t even come close.

To every student, parent, colleague, alumni, and friend who has been part of this journey: thank you. You helped make our choral department a home.

I’m looking forward to one last unforgettable concert together, doing what we love most.

If you’re a HHS Choral Department alumni, I’d be honored to have you there on May 28 for one last Jabberwocky and one last Irish Blessing.
