We have an amazing team and incredible volunteers. We donated 188 backpacks filled with school supplies and snacks to Oscar Smith High School students today. We exceeded the donations from last year by thirteen (13) backpacks!!! Amazing!!!

We have an amazing team and incredible volunteers. Over one hundred and seventy-five (175) backpacks were donated to Oscar Smith High School students. Our team organized and packed one hundred and fifty-four (154) backpacks this afternoon. We exceeded the donations from last year by forty (40) backpacks!!!

This incredible team organized and packed 100 additional backpacks tonight! We collected 140 total backpacks and supplies. Wow! 🙌🏽 🤩
Our crew was so amazing that we were done and cleaned up by 6:40! 😎

Dr. Rob Fox and his amazing staff at Griffey Eye Care, graciously volunteered their time to perform free eye exams and provide free eye glasses to 18 local students! Lisa Fox coordinated warm breakfast food and homemade holiday treats to further bless the students and their families when they arrived. :)

Christmas time is almost here and with that brings hardship for some. This year at River Oak Church we will be focusing on families at our church, Oscar Smith High School, Oscar Smith Middle School, Young Lives, Portlock Primary & Outreach for Christ.
We will begin accepting donations on November 17, 2018 and run for five straight Sundays. Boards will be placed in Lobby’s A, B & C. Angel Tree Volunteers will collect unwrapped gifts through 12/15.
Please prayerfully consider ways you can help contribute to the Angel Tree Ministry.

Want to be a blessing? River Oak hosts a group called Get Smart on Tuesday evenings. Get Smart in a nut shell is a program that is mentoring and tutoring at risk children, whether they are struggling in school or having family hardships (abuse, homeless, not doing well in society). They teach life lessons and help where it is needed. They also pray with these kids at each and every event. In addition, they do community projects and field trips with these kids.
On Tuesday, November 26th, they are hosting a “Thanksgiving Dinner” for these students and have asked us if we could help by providing the side dishes for the 80 students that attend. The dishes would need to be delivered to the church by 5:00 that day.
We have created a link where you can sign up for a particular dish. We would LOVE you to help us bless these kids!
