Our next Social Decoding sessions are starting in just a few weeks — and each group is one learner away from the group size we’re hoping for. 💙

We’re currently enrolling for:

Primary Elementary
Grades 1–2 • Mondays at 5 PM

Intermediate Elementary
Grades 3–5 • Wednesdays at 5 PM

Secondary
Grades 6–12 • Mondays at 5 PM

Why do we call it Social Decoding instead of “social skills”?

Because our goal isn’t to teach one “right” way to socialize. We help learners make sense of communication, context, emotions, relationships, and different perspectives while honoring neurodivergent ways of connecting.

It’s about understanding, self-advocacy, and choice — not masking or conformity.

If your learner has been curious about joining, this is a great time to reach out before the new session begins.

Inside Out Learners is looking for a licensed educator with experience supporting neurodivergent youth and/or adults.

We’re hoping to connect with someone who values individualized learning, authentic relationships, flexibility, and neurodiversity-affirming support — and who believes learners deserve to be understood, not molded into one “right” way of learning or being.

Came in today and found this waiting on the table — a puzzle our young adults finished together at last week’s social.

It’s such a simple thing, but it captures what we love about these nights: shared interests, time together, conversation that happens naturally, and the kind of connection that grows when there’s no pressure to perform.

Sometimes community looks like a big moment.

And sometimes it looks like two puppies, a pile of pumpkins, and 500 puzzle pieces finally finding their place. 🧩

New this fall: our Elementary Social Decoding groups are now split by age. đź’™

Primary Elementary
Grades 1–2 • Mondays at 5 PM

Intermediate Elementary
Grades 3–5 • Wednesdays at 5 PM

The smaller age ranges help us shape activities and conversations around what feels relevant for each stage — while keeping the same neuroaffirming focus on communication, emotions, self-advocacy, and authentic connection.

Social Decoding is about more than understanding other people. It’s also about understanding yourself.

Our groups explore things like emotions, self-advocacy, communication, boundaries, perspectives, and the choices we have in social situations.

These are some of the visual resources around our center that help support those conversations.

The goal isn’t to teach learners to suppress feelings or perform a “correct” response. It’s to build awareness, language, and options — so they can navigate the social world in ways that feel authentic to them.

Understanding yourself is part of understanding the social world.
