You Belong, I Belong, We all Belong 🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒☺️

Belongingness, is purposefully included as the first part of the Balanced Learning
curriculum because of the strong emphasis on learning to respect others. This unit focuses on culture in a developmentally appropriate way. Children discuss the uniqueness of individual people beginning with a strong focus on the concept of celebrating and embracing differences and finding similarities and connections among peers.

For Wondertime 2, our Young Toddlers talked about our families with Peanut the Pony! We went over how all our families are different and how everyone in our family is also different with different roles! To make sure everyone in their families were included, we visited our experience wall to look at pictures of our families!

Toddler are learning about belongingness during art!

“Woof, I'm so happy to see all of my friends. And I'm excited to start our special art project! We are going to create beautiful art with our faces.” Said Erwin the dog! “Now, you will add color to your picture. Your artwork will help show who you are. Everyone's art will look a little different because we are all special and unique.” Erwin said!

Their teachers reminded us that our artwork is special because it represents us!

🌧Rainy Day Movement☔

The rain doesn't stop our Preschoolers from productively moving their bodies! Our indoor gross motor time was packed with focus and fun. Students put their balancing and hand-eye coordination to the test by walking along a straight path while carefully steering colorful balls on makeshift paddles. The challenge culminated in a test of accuracy as they aimed and landed their balls into our vibrant target baskets!

Katrina Laffey has a gift for creating learning experiences that are accessible, memorable and meaningful for every child. 💡

In three years at Primrose School of South Charlotte and 12 years with Primrose overall, Ms. Laffey has built a Pre-K environment that is warm, creative and inclusive. Dramatic play centers change into gardens and coffee shops, a sensory table becomes an invitation to explore and every activity is introduced with genuine enthusiasm.

Ms. Laffey doesn’t just teach. She builds experiences children and families carry with them long after the school year ends. ❤️

You may see the packed calendar, the unfinished to-do list or the moments when you wish you could do more.

Your child sees something different. ❤️

They see the hug before drop-off. The excitement at pickup. The encouragement that helps them try again. The familiar routines that remind them they are safe, supported and loved.

This Working Parents Day, we’re celebrating every parent balancing so much while continuing to show up with love. You are making more of a difference than you know.

Share this with a working parent who needs to hear it today. 📨

Try modeling the kindness you want your child to show, naming emotions to build empathy, creating opportunities for compassion and helping your child see differences as something to celebrate. 🌟

The best part of a new school year might just be the stories that come home each day.

The new friend they met. The picture they're proud of. The classroom tradition they can't stop talking about. The little moments that help school start to feel like a second home. ✨

Across Primrose schools, students are settling into new routines, building connections and creating memories that families will remember long after this school year ends.

What's one story, moment or accomplishment your child couldn't wait to tell you about after school? Share in the comments below or post a photo of them enjoying the new school year. 📸

Amanda Frost helps children grow in ways families never imagined possible. 🌱

At Primrose School of O'Fallon at WingHaven, Mrs. Frost pays close attention to every student’s progress, and she differentiates instruction and adapts lessons in real time to meet each child’s individual needs.

Children leave her classroom emotionally prepared for kindergarten and academically ahead of expectations. Mrs. Frost has built a classroom culture so warm and consistent that children who once struggled with anxiety, transitions or self-confidence walk out ready for what comes next.

When offered a leadership position this year, she chose to stay with her students. That choice says everything. ❤️

When children at Primrose School of Carmel explored community helpers, they learned that kindness can be delivered in many ways. 💌

And they put that lesson into action by surprising their local mail carrier, Mr. Greg, with handmade thank-you cards, colorful posters and heartfelt messages. It was a sweet way to celebrate an everyday helper who makes a big difference in their community.

Angela Levingston has spent 24 years turning everyday lessons into unforgettable learning experiences. 🌟

In Mrs. Levingston’s classroom, a sheet of yellow poster board becomes a New York City skyline, simple materials transform into a three-ring circus, and a classroom wall turns into the world of Charlotte’s Web.

Behind every transformation is purposeful teaching: smooth transitions, clear expectations and meaningful learning woven into each experience. She proves again and again that extraordinary education is both an art and a science.

Her impact lives in the confidence she builds, the character she nurtures and the guidance she shares with colleagues. Twenty-four years in, Mrs. Levingston is still the standard. ❤️
