Taste of India Outreach Community is collecting toys for the Toys for Tots Marine Corps Foundation.

They have been delivering hope to children at Christmastime and beyond since 1947.

Please help us by donating new, unwrapped toys.
The deadline to donate is Wednesday, 12/11/2025.

Requested toy age groups (all genders):
• Infant to toddler
• Ages 6–12 years

Drop-off location:
Hindu Temple in Chesapeake
Drop-off dates: Saturday 12/6 and Sunday 12/7 during temple hours
Drop off inside the main door.

If you’re unable to buy a toy, you can Zelle the amount to us and we will purchase the toys on your behalf.

The Balkendra family came together to celebrate Diwali in a truly joyful way. It was great to see everyone joining hands to craft beautiful diyas. Enjoyed delicious food.
Of course, no Diwali celebration feels complete without the sparkle of fun.

Balakendra Program for the 2025-2026

🎉Celebrating 25 Years of Balakendra🎉

What an incredible milestone and a truly memorable celebration! From the very first batch of 2000 to our current batch of 2025 of bright learners all together, it was heartwarming to see so many past and present members together to honor 25 years of Balakendra’s journey.

A special thank you to all the alumni who joined us, making the occasion even more meaningful. It was especially touching to have very first student present for this special event.

Our children did a phenomenal job—reciting shlokas with the Dashavatara play with such confidence and joy. Your dedication and efforts made the celebration truly special🙏🏻🙏🏻

We had a small martial arts demonstration by Siya Patel, a Balkendra Alumni to share the sport of Tad Kwon Do and self defense with the community. The class began with learning the energy yell and a short warm up/stretching. They practiced a few techniques like punches and three different types of kicking (front snap kick, axe kick, and roundhouse kick). Finally, they ended the demonstration with a fun pool noodles game to test reflexes and get moving.

Little hearts, big impact. ❤️

Sometimes, we underestimate just how much they understand and how big their hearts really are. Kids are just so versatile. It's incredible how innocent and helpful they can be at such a young age ✨🌟

February is such a lovely month, isn't it? It's all about celebrating Valentine's Day and spreading love to everyone around us. We have made this day special by sharing joy with the seniors of Jeevan Sandhya Mandal and Balakendra kids ❤️ Love is beautiful in all its forms. Thank you for your kindness and Happy Valentine's Day to each and every one of you💕
