Veritas Collegiate Academy Washington, D.C. Campus Sailing Team Update
As a Classical Christian school, we value activities that cultivate discipline, teamwork, leadership, courage, and stewardship—virtues that are essential both on the water and in life.
School may be out for the summer, but our athletes continue to compete! At the Beachwood, New Jersey Regatta, the Veritas Collegiate Academy Washington, D.C. Campus Sailing Team overcame a challenging technical round on Saturday and delivered an outstanding performance on the water Sunday. Competing in 22-foot Pearson Ensign four-person racing sailboats, Veritas boats 218, 1060, and 1331 all finished among the Top 6 in the racing competition.
A special congratulations goes to Boat 218—William Drury, Jack Gunlock, Josiah Henson, and Sam Menorca—whose impressive finishes of 1st, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 3rd earned them the Bronze Medal and a 3rd-place overall finish. We are proud of all of our sailors for representing Veritas with skill, perseverance, and sportsmanship. Congratulations on an outstanding regatta and a strong finish to the season!

Greetings from our Veritas Beijing campus! Mrs. Elgut and I were honored to participate in our Beijing campus graduation celebration, reconnect with longtime friends, and witness the accomplishments of an outstanding group of students. Joining us for this special occasion were Mr. Brian Kim and Miss Shin, Heads of our Seoul, South Korea campus, along with our own Miss Rebekah Elgut, as we celebrated our rising seniors and all they have achieved. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to our graduating 11th grade class and look forward to welcoming many of these exceptional young men and women to Veritas Collegiate Academy in Washington, DC this fall. Food, fellowship, and friendship made for a wonderful beginning to our Asia visit as we continue strengthening the global Veritas family.

Veritas Senior Commissioning 2026:
Yesterday, 42 Veritas Collegiate Academy seniors gathered at the beautiful outdoor amphitheater on the grounds of the Washington National Cathedral for our annual Senior Commissioning Ceremony. Surrounded by family, friends, faculty, and fellow students, we took time to pray over, encourage, and commission the Class of 2026 as they prepare to embark on the next chapter of their lives.
This special tradition reminds us that education is about more than academics, it is about preparing young men and women to lead lives of purpose, service, and faith. We are incredibly proud of these graduates and look forward to seeing the impact they will make in their communities, colleges, careers, and around the world.
Congratulations, Class of 2026! Your Veritas family is cheering you on every step of the way.

At today’s Veritas Collegiate Academy Washington D.C. Chemistry and AP Environmental Science Experimental Fair, students did far more than simply display projects. Under the leadership and creative vision of Mrs. Çako, students performed live experiments, presented their findings before an audience, and walked guests through their scientific process, methodology, and expected results in real time. Mrs. Çako did an outstanding job creating an engaging environment where students were challenged not only to understand science, but to communicate it with confidence and clarity. This kind of hands-on presentation develops critical thinking, public speaking, and deeper scientific understanding far beyond the typical science fair. Classical education in action — where students pursue truth in science through experimentation, observation, and discovery.

As we celebrate the close of another incredible school year at Veritas Collegiate Academy, our Upper School students enjoyed a wonderful day together today at Hersheypark — filled with laughter, roller coasters, friendship, and unforgettable memories. At Veritas, we believe education extends far beyond the classroom walls; it is also about building lifelong friendships, strengthening community, rewarding hard work, and creating shared experiences that students will remember for years to come. After a year of academic excellence, thesis defenses, AP courses, athletics, performances, and leadership opportunities, today was a chance for our students simply to enjoy being together and celebrate all they have accomplished. We are so proud of our students and thankful for another extraordinary year at Veritas!
