Attention families of rising kindergartners and students new to the City of Chesapeake: If you haven’t completed enrollment for the 2026-2027 school year yet, please submit your registration by August 3, 2026.

Registering by this deadline guarantees bus transportation for your child on the first day of school! Enrollments completed after August 3, 2026, will still receive a bus assignment as soon as possible, but enrolling early helps us plan for a smooth start to the school year! 🚌

We saved the biggest word for last: C-O-N-G-R-A-T-U-L-A-T-I-O-N-S! 🐝🏆 We are so excited to celebrate our Third Grade Spelling Bee champions!

Our students did a phenomenal job on stage earlier this week. A huge round of applause to everyone who participated, and a special congratulations to our top three finishers!

From elementary hallways to new middle school adventures, our 5th graders are ready to soar! During our promotion ceremony, we celebrated their achievements, memories, and bright futures. Congratulations, Class of 2033—we know you’ll do amazing things! 💜✨

DCE’s first Primary Career Day was a huge success! Our K–2 students had an incredible opportunity to explore a variety of careers, ask questions, and learn about the many paths their futures can take. From hands-on experiences to inspiring conversations, the day was filled with excitement, curiosity, and discovery. Thank you to all of our presenters and volunteers who helped make this special event possible. We can’t wait to see where our students’ dreams take them! ⭐

Our talented fifth graders took the stage for their strings concert and did an amazing job! Their hard work, practice, and dedication truly showed in every performance. We are so proud of all of our student musicians for sharing their talents and representing our school so well. Great job, fifth grade! 🎻🎶

This week, we celebrate and thank our incredible custodial team for everything they do to keep our school clean, safe, and welcoming each and every day. From early mornings to late afternoons, their hard work never goes unnoticed.
