Sign and Play with Haylee An early childhood enrichment program with stories, songs, movement, imagination, and sign language! Hello! I’m so happy you’re here. My name is Haylee Holt.

I consider myself an Oregon native, but home is where the Coast Guard puts us. I have been in North Carolina with my husband, Josh, and our two kids for two years. I completed my BS in Psychology in 2013, and have additional credentials in child development. Most of my hands-on experience in early childhood and sign language have been from my own children, Margot and Max! When my daughter was born, she surprised us with a birth diagnosis of Down syndrome. We received early intervention services from the time she was just a few weeks old. As she grew and language became a focus for us, sign language was recommended by almost every professional we worked with. At the time it felt overwhelming and awkward, but 5 years later we are going strong! Margot is now considered verbal, but she knows and regularly uses hundreds of signs in her daily life. When our son, Max, came along he naturally picked up on the everyday signs we were using, and we have easily communicated with him since a very early age. I will never forget the look on my daughter’s face, knowing that she was heard and understood. I am now very passionate about fostering confidence and self expression in children. I am so excited to share this passion with the people in my community!

Santa knows some children need extra patience when visiting him during the holiday season.🎅

We are hosting "Calming Santa" for families to enjoy a soothing and sensory-friendly environment visit with Santa. We welcome families with children who have sensory, physical and developmental needs who can enjoy their visit with dimmed lighting, noise reduction, and minimal crowds.

This is a free event but cash donations are welcomed as ALL proceeds will be donated to SPCA. 🐱🐶

An interactive program that will motivate kids to stay active, play, think, grow, learn and most of all have fun! 🤸‍♀️ My mission is to keep kids healthy•wholesome•happy 😊

Classes will be held at Zaribels in downtown Elizabeth City. Registration is now open. Classes are available for ages 1 to 9! I can’t wait to see you in 2022!

We had so much fun playing at story time today!

Toddlers learned about things that go and made a cute car puppet.

Preschoolers learned ALL the colors of the rainbow and got to choose their favorites to make a ribbon wand! They also started learning how to sign "Jingle bells."
