Originally from Puerto Rico, Lorraine earned her Bachelor's degree from the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico and her Master's degree from Liberty University. This will be her fourth year with Chesapeake Public Schools, and we are excited that she will be spending it with us at Grassfield!

Lorraine brings 11 years of experience in education and is licensed in both General Education and Special Education. Her educational journey has taken her from elementary to middle and high school classrooms, and even around the world! She has taught foreign language and math in Florida and Japan and has extensive experience supporting students with a variety of learning needs.🧡🐊💙

Please join us in giving a warm Grassfield Elementary welcome to Ma Princess Pritchard, who will be joining our GFE team as a Special Education Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year!

Originally from the Philippines, Mrs. Pritchard has called the United States home for the past 17 years. She and her husband are proud parents of a 16-year-old daughter.

Although Mrs. Pritchard earned her degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, she discovered that her true passion was in education—and we are certainly glad she did! She has been part of Chesapeake Public Schools for nearly 15 years, spending her first 10 years as a Teacher Assistant before becoming a Special Education teacher. This year marks her fourth year as a Special Education teacher, and throughout her career, she has especially enjoyed working with primary elementary students and helping children learn, grow, and build confidence.

Mrs. Pritchard is excited to make the move to Grassfield Elementary, meet her students and new colleagues, and become part of our Gator family. Outside of school, she loves traveling, experiencing different cultures, and trying local foods wherever her adventures take her!

Originally from Detroit, Michigan, Christina earned a Bachelor's degree in Strategic Communication from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a Master's degree in K–12 Educational Administration from Michigan State University. She began her career as a Teach For America corps member, teaching Pre-Kindergarten for three years before serving in school administrative roles for five years.

Christina and her husband are the proud parents of two wonderful children ages seven and four. After taking time away from the classroom to focus on being a mom, she is excited to return to teaching and begin this new chapter with our Gators.

Christina is grateful for the opportunity to become part of the Grassfield Elementary community and is looking forward to creating a colorful, exciting, and engaging year for her first graders.

Please join us in welcoming Nara Hodgson back to Grassfield Elementary as one of our two full-time librarians for the 2026–2027 school year!

While this is a new role, Nara is certainly no stranger to GFE. Over the past several years, she has become a familiar face in our school community, serving as a substitute, long-term substitute, and priority substitute. We are thrilled to officially welcome her back as a permanent member of our Gator family!

Originally from Rhode Island, Nara and her family have called many places home during her husband's more than 20 years of service in the U.S. Navy. They are proud parents of two children, both proud Grassfield Elementary alumni who now attend Hugo Owens Middle School.

Nara holds a Master's Degree in Library Science and has spent the past several years serving students throughout Chesapeake Public Schools. We are excited for her to share her love of reading, learning, and discovery with our Gators as she helps inspire a lifelong passion for books and literacy.

Originally from Iowa, Ashley and her family made the move to Virginia Beach five years ago after falling in love with the East Coast and being close to the ocean. She and her husband are the proud parents of 9-year-old twin boys and a 19-year-old daughter who attends Florida State University.

This marks Ashley's 15th year as a school counselor! Before entering education, she earned her bachelor's degree in Criminology and worked in law enforcement, juvenile detention, and Child Protective Services. Those experiences gave her a strong foundation for supporting students and families, and she is passionate about helping every child grow both academically and personally.

We are thrilled to welcome Ashley to the GFE family and know the care, compassion, and experience she brings will have a lasting impact on our students, staff, and families.

A Virginia native, Jaida recently graduated from Regent University with a degree in Elementary Education.
