So this book is helping me understand how to help my children get thru, talk thru etc. The loss of their father. It's also helping me understand how to help my daughter get thru the fear of being outside and hearing loud noises.

Not only did we witness a shooting in VA next door to our home. Her father died from a gun. Her and my brother witnessed a shoot out in TX && now there are loud fireworks bcuz of the 4th that is keeping her in fear.

I'm reading the importance of story telling, which will help her express her experiences and feelings. & also that it's important to connect b4 I give her solutions.

I kept telling her in a loving way of course that she can't live in fear. She was protected each time.and wasn't harmed so have faith that she will continue to be.

But see her dad wasn't protected. I've also went into teaching about the laws of karma but I dnt want ppl to view me as insensitive so I'll skip over that convo for now....

I've been reading how it's important to connect with her feelings. Dnt just use my right brain logic. That I should also engage my left emotional brain and sit with her in her feelings. Allow her to express them...understand them... express my own feelings of pain hurt fear etc.

All that I have done already but it's allowed be to think of ways I can go deeper into those parts of myself and give her the safe space to do the same....

Connect & then express the solutions. The realities the world we live in, iniversal laws and how to stay on the right side of our experiences

We Still can't allow the fear and pain to overwhelm us. But we must give ourselves the opportunity to feel the feelings like waves and let them pass by.
