Hello there parents and caregivers! As we prepare our little ones for kindergarten, it's important to keep their minds engaged with fun activities and games. Here are some ideas to try with your 2-4 year olds this week:
Shape scavenger hunt: Draw or print out pictures of different shapes (circles, squares, triangles, etc.) and hide them around the house. Encourage your child to find as many shapes as they can and identify them.
Alphabet hopscotch: Create a hopscotch board using chalk or masking tape, but instead of numbers, write the letters of the alphabet. Have your child jump from letter to letter, saying the name of each letter as they go.
Sensory bin exploration: Create a sensory bin using a plastic container filled with different materials such as rice, pasta, beans, or sand. Add some small toys or objects that your child can find and play with, such as plastic animals, cars, or building blocks. Encourage your child to use their senses to explore the different textures and shapes of the materials in the bin. You can also add different colors to make it more visually stimulating. This activity is a great way to encourage creativity, imagination, and fine motor skills!
Remember, learning should always be fun and interactive! What are some of your favorite activities to do with your little ones? Share in the comments below!"
