Affiliated with the Music Teachers Association of Greater Calvert, Tracey Ernst holds her Bachelor's of Science in Music Education from the University of Maryland and has served in a variety of teaching settings both in the private studio and the classroom. Tracey continues to teach and inspire young people in musical talents and many have gone on to active careers in music serving in a variety of
schools, and churches, continuing the music education tradition. Among these is Allison Kerr, a graduate of Messiah College in Grantham, PA. Allison holds her Bachelor's of Science in Music Education and her Master's of Education in Kodaly Music Education from the American Kodaly Institute at Loyola University Maryland. She currently teaches general music at Mechanicsville Elementary School in St. Sarah Brosvic is new to the Ernst Music Studio, having moved to southern Maryland from Kent, Ohio this summer. She taught piano at the Aurora School of Music for five years, and has maintained a private studio in Kent since 2013. Sarah directed the New Spirit Vocal Ensemble at the United Methodist Church of Kent for six years, and also served as an ensemble accompanist and substitute organist. She received her Bachelor of Music from Messiah College under Richard Roberson and Ya-Ting Chang, and a Master of Music from Kent State University. Her passion is guiding students in the discovery of the joy of music making. Kaity Oates grew up in Pennsylvania and graduated from Messiah College in 2012 with a music education degree as a saxophone major. She is also in the process of obtaining her Masters degree in music education from Liberty University. Kaity is a full time middle school chorus teacher at Calvert Middle School and previously taught general music and chorus at Appeal Elementary School (PAC) in Lusby. Kaity has worked with Chesapeake Church's children's choir and played saxophone and clarinet with various local ensembles. Kaity serves as a substitute teacher in the studio as needed and offers woodwind lessons out of her home in Prince Frederick. Our teachers spend a great deal of time serving as accompanists for weddings, funerals and other church services, as well as supporting other music students, soloists and ensembles with piano accompaniments for a variety of performances and adjudications.
