Hello! My name is Julia Dittenber and I am excited to begin my new role as the Resource Room teacher at Big Rock Elementary. This is my fourth year teaching and before teaching I was a Registered Behavior Technician in ABA centers for 4 years. I enjoy spending time with friends and family, crafting, and relaxing at our cabin in Houghton Lake. I am excited to join the Indian Tribe again, this time as a staff member instead of a student.

Hello, everyone! My name is Hannah Koch, and I am so excited to be joining Big Rock Elementary School as a 1st Grade teacher this year!

This spring, I graduated from the University of Michigan–Dearborn with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education, with concentrations in Pre-K–3rd Grade and 3rd–6th Grade. During college, I also had the opportunity to play softball on scholarship.

When I’m not at school, you’ll usually find me spending time with family and friends, listening to music, watching Detroit sports, coaching and giving softball lessons, or getting lost in a good book. I am also a huge Michigan fan. Go Blue!

I can’t wait to begin my teaching career, get to know my students and their families, and become a part of the Chesaning community!

Hi, my name is Keri Diener, and I am so excited to introduce myself as the new middle school special education teacher at Chesaning Middle School. I am originally from Freeland, Michigan and have been a resident of Chesaning since 2008. I earned my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with minors in ELA and Math from Saginaw Valley State University. I have been trained in LETRS, the science of reading and will receive my Special Education Learning Disabilities endorsement in December of 2026.

I have taught in Swartz Creek, substitute taught in Chesaning for many years and spent the last 10 years teaching in Saginaw. I have taught Preschool thru 8th grade, and it has been my dream to teach here in Chesaning close to home. I am so thrilled to be part of this amazing community.

Outside of teaching I love to travel and spend time with my family, Eric my wonderful husband and our children Katie, Evan and Landon. I also enjoy gardening, baking, working out and seeing live music. I am truly grateful for this opportunity and can't wait to meet all my students this year.
