The Homecoming Parade was held Friday, Sept. 11, featuring the homecoming court, marching band, football team, cheerleaders and more.

We also talked with the five members of the homecoming court to hear more about their special night.

Hello, Falcon Families! This is Ms. Falter with your weekly update from W.B. Beam Intermediate.

Before we get to this week’s events, here’s a little reminder for our families: Your words matter more than you may realize. A simple “I’m proud of you,” “Keep trying,” or “Tell me something you learned today” lets your child know that school is important and that you believe in them. As we move further into the school year and the work gets a little harder, remind your Falcon that we don’t have to get everything right the first time—we just have to keep learning, growing, and trying again.

Here’s what’s happening this week:

Monday, September 21: Boy Scouts will visit our school at 8:00 a.m. to share information with students.

Tuesday, September 22: Our 4th-grade students will take their first Math Interim Assessment. This assessment helps our teachers see what students have learned so far and identify areas where they may need additional instruction or support.

Also on Tuesday, families interested in Boy Scouts are invited to a Boy Scouts Parent Meeting at Cherryville Elementary at 6:00 p.m.

Friday, September 25: Our 5th-grade students will take their first Math Interim Assessment. Please help your child do their best by getting a good night’s sleep, arriving at school on time, and coming ready to learn.

We also need your help, Falcon families! Our Student Science Fair is coming up on October 16, and we are looking for volunteers to serve as Science Fair judges between 8:00 and 11:00 a.m. Volunteers can give as little as one to two hours, and no science experience or special skills are needed. We provide the rubric and everything you need. Our goal is to have at least 10 volunteers to help us celebrate our students and their hard work.

Thank you for being our partners in your child’s education. When families and schools work together, our Falcons can soar higher than either of us could help them fly alone.

Good afternoon! This is Mrs. Falter calling from Beam Intermediate. I’m calling to make sure you have a few important dates and reminders for next week.

Before I share those reminders, I want to say that we had a great time celebrating Homecoming with our Spirit Week! It was wonderful to see our students and staff showing their school spirit and enjoying the week together. Thank you to our families for helping make it such a fun week!

First, on Monday, September 14, there will be a Girl Scout Parent Meeting at Cherryville Elementary at 6:00 p.m. If your child is interested in participating in Girl Scouts, we encourage you to attend and learn more.

On Tuesday, September 15, our 4th grade students will be attending their field trip to Hart Square. Please make sure your child arrives at school on time and is prepared for the trip.

On Wednesday, September 16, students will not attend school because it is a mandated teacher work/professional development day.

Please make sure you mark these dates on your calendar.

**Hello, W B Beam Families! 💙🤍**

We’ve got a BIG week ahead, and I’m excited to share what’s happening at Cherryville High School!

First, I want to take a moment to celebrate our students and staff. **Last year, we made some great academic growth, and we are incredibly proud of that progress!** But we’re not stopping there. This year, we’re going to keep pushing, keep working, and keep growing. Our goal is to **meet our growth goals and exceed them!** With our students, staff, and families working together, I know we can make it happen. 💪📚

And now… it’s **HOMECOMING WEEK!** 🎉🏈

Here’s what we’ve got planned for Spirit Week:

😴 **Tuesday – Pajama Day!**
Come comfortable and school-appropriate in your favorite pajamas!

🤪 **Wednesday – Wacky Wednesday!**
Mismatch it, mix it up, and show us your wackiest school-appropriate outfit!

🏈 **Thursday – Jersey Day!**
Represent your favorite team and wear your favorite jersey!

💙🤍 **Friday – Cherryville Pride!**
It’s time to show our school spirit! Let’s pack the school in **blue and white** and finish Homecoming Week strong!

Just a reminder that **Monday is a school holiday for Labor Day**, so there will be **no school**. We’ll see everyone back on Tuesday!

A couple of important September reminders for our families:

📣 **September 10 is our Annual Title I Meeting.** We’d love to have our families join us as we talk about Title I and the ways we partner together to support our students.

👧 **Girl Scouts** will also be holding a **parent meeting at Cherryville Elementary School** for families interested in learning more about joining. If you’re interested, we encourage you to come out and learn more about this great opportunity for our students.
