FOR AID IN FINDING FRIENDS

Sweet Brigit, mother and friend;

I am feeling lonely and I want some good people in my life. I need some loyal friends to share day to day events and activities with. I want some kind and lively company as I experience life's joys and disappointments.

Sweet Brigit; guide some good people my way. When I am out and about, steer me in the direction of possibilities. Let our paths cross so that we meet naturally and hit it off right away.

Brigit is the daughter of the Dagda and Boann; the wife of Nuada of the Silver Hand; and, the maiden aspect of the Triple Goddess:
Brigit • Danu • Badb
She is also considered to be the Mother Goddess of all of Ireland.

Brigit is the multi-talented, multi-tasking, young mother who takes care of every need that arises within her family and her Clan.

She is mother, queen, healer, counsellor to the King, artist, crafts-person and gardener. Her creative energy burns like an unquenchable fire. Knowledgeable and quick, she can devise a solution for any problem or concern.

Brigit's energy is balanced, calming, cautious, controlled, courageous, crafty, creative, decisive, determined, eloquent, energetic, focused, forceful, friendly, frugal, generous, grounded, happy, healing, independent, industrious, intelligent, intuitive, loving, loyal, lucky, magickal, magnetic, meditative, motherly, mystical, peaceful, powerful, protective, quick, romantic, steadfast, strong, successful, thoughtful, victorious, wise and youthful.

A PRAYER TO BOV THE RED FOR AID AGAINST THEFT

Brilliant Bov; weapons craftsman for the Clan; I know how important your shop, your tools and your weapons are to you. Should anyone trespass on your property or attempt to steal any of your possessions; they would be persued by you until they were captured and your property was recovered. What a dreadful fate would fall on them then!

Watchful Bov; in this mundane world where I live, there are many people who would rather roam the streets at night looking for property to steal, than to devote themselves to honorable work during the day. All of my treasures are in my home ~ those that are necessary for my work, and those that I have acquired for my own personal enjoyment.

Crafty Bov; camouflage my property so that it is invisible to the thief. Should a thief come to my neighborhood, let nothing on my property attract his attention. Let him pass me by.

Mighty Bov; Warrior-King; with my property under your watchful eye, I know that it is safe and secure. With your aid, and the spell I've laid, by the power of three, so mote it be!

Bov the Red is the son of mother-goddess, Danu; and the brother of the father-god, the Dagda.

Bov is a master craftsman when it comes to making weapons for battle. Working with Faery helpers, his tools of war are enchanted with deadly magick.

Fighting with a Faery army by his side, Bov's attacks on the battlefield are strategic, covert and devastating. Bov is the master of the sneak attack; being very adept at trickery, as he is.

A PRAYER TO BOANN FOR AID WITH A MARRIAGE PROPOSAL

Great Mother-goddess Boann; wife of the powerful father-god, the Dagda;

I long for a marriage like yours. I want a loving, perfectly equal partnership with a man/woman who loves me every bit as much as I love him/her.

I want to build a life, a home, and a family with this man/woman whom I love so much. We have been together for a very long time, and we have a great relationship. The next logical step is marriage, but he/she hasn't mentioned it.

If he/she does want to marry me, please help me to give him/her all of the positive signals he/she needs to be confident that his/her proposal will be accepted. Nudge him/her ever so slightly, Boann, and give him/her the courage he/she needs to proceed.

If he/she is only interested in our relationship continuing without the commitment of marriage, help him/her to be honest with me, and to reveal his/her true intentions. At least that will quell my anticipation, and give me the opportunity to decide just how important marriage is to me.

A PRAYER TO AENGUS MAC OG
FOR AID WITH SLEEP

Kind and generous Angus Mac Og; I am having trouble sleeping. It takes me a long time to fall asleep, and once I get to sleep, I wake up off and on all night.

Wise Angus Mac Og; show me how to calm myself before bedtime. Show me how to let the energy drain softly from me, so that I am tired when I lie down in bed. Help me fall asleep quickly.

Monitor my sleep and see that I am safe. Send beautiful dreams to hold my attention, so that I stay asleep until it's time for me to wake up and start my day.

Help me to wake up well-rested, refreshed, and eager to face the day and all it holds. By these words and the power of three, so mote it be!

goddess of fury, war, and just punishment

The name BADB means "fury". This carries a double meaning. On the one hand, BADB can be "furious" with a person or a situation. On the other hand, BADB can work or five about "furiously", mimicking a whirlwind, tornado, or hurricane.

BADB has a temper and is quick to anger. Once enraged, she moves quickly to utterly and completely destroy her enemy.

BADB should be invoked only when fast action and complete destruction is desired. You should always try to solve the problem or destroy your enemy using your own mundane or magickal power first.

Always use extreme caution when invoking this goddess of war and death. Offerings should be large and valuable. Do not bother her with trivial matters; or she might turn her fury on you.

[An acceptable reason to invoke BADB: when a ra**st or murderer has escaped capture or punishment by the judicial system. Just make sure that you know for a fact that the person is guilty of the crime.]

BADB's energy is courageous, destructive, fearless, forceful, furious, quick, vanquishing, vindictive, and violent. BADB is also a guide to the Underworld.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Make sure you know who BADB is before you invoke her for anything. She is a dark goddess, and one of the faces of the dreadful death and destruction goddess: the MORRIGAN. Call on her in emergency cases only, and only when all else has failed. Bring generous offerings and be prepared to pay a bit of a personal price. Consider yourself warned.

A PRAYER TO BADB
FOR AID WITH BANISHING A FOE

Fierce and powerful BADB; I find it necessary to petition your aid in ridding myself of this baneful person named [insert full name of your enemy here]. I am so sick and tired of him(her). All s(he) does day and night is to plot and plan her(his) evil against me. S(he) has done nothing but cause me grief; and so far, I have been unable to banish her(him) on my own.

Wise and mighty BADB; don't think me weak and ineffective in the magickal arts. Usually when I cast a spell, I see results quickly. This is not so when I cast spells against this person.

I now suspect that (s)he has been receiving aid from some deity or other being. I am convinced that s(he) can only be banished by your hand. If you will add a bit of your most terrible magick to mine, I know that I will be rid of this pest at last. Vanquished by your aid, I know that I will never be troubled by my foe again.

Most dreaded BABD; I have brought you these small gifts. I know that they are next to nothing, but they are all I can give today. If you will take them as a down payment and help me, this is what I will do: On every New Moon until Samhain, I will remember you with a light and another gift of thanks. In addition to this, I will tell all who will hear of the great BABD and her tremendous power.

You, my dark and dangerous queen, are BABD the destroyer! You are the most destructive force that can befall a foe! Aid me in this small thing, and I will remember you all of my days!

Sweet Airmid, goddess of herb-craft and healing;

I need your help. I have fallen ill and I don't seem to be able to shake it off. Every treatment I have tried has failed me.

Look inside of your herb cabinet, good and kind Airmid, and find a remedy for me. Mix it with my own mundane medicine and efforts, and let me be rid of this dreadful ailment!
