Dear Beck Middle School 6th Grade Families & New Families,

We are excited to welcome our newest Bobcats to Beck Middle School for New Student Orientation on Thursday, August 27th. This event is designed to help students and families feel comfortable, informed, and connected as they begin their middle school journey.

Orientation Schedule
To create a smoother and more flexible experience, orientation will be offered in multiple sessions this year. Families may choose the session that best fits their schedule using our sign up sheet. Sessions are first come, first served, so we encourage you to sign up early.

• Small Group Session (Invitation Only): 5:30–6:05 PM (Families selected for this session will receive a separate email with details.)
• Session 1: 6:00–6:45 PM
• Session 2: 7:00–7:45 PM

In previous years, sessions were assigned by last name. Based on family feedback, we are shifting to a sign up model to reduce conflicts and make the process more convenient. You can sign up using this link.

What to Expect
During orientation, families will have the opportunity to:
• Meet Beck’s school administrators
• Tour the building
• Connect with community partners including, but not limited to:
o Beck PTSA
o Cherry Hill Public Library
o Cherry Hill Police Department, who support our LEAD program for 6th graders
The PTSA will kindly provide pretzels and water for the event.

Attendance Guidelines
Due to the size of our incoming class and to ensure manageable group sizes:
• Please limit attendance to no more than two adults per student.
• We ask that siblings not attend, so we can keep groups focused and appropriately sized for the orientation experience.

We look forward to welcoming our newest Bobcats to Beck Middle School and helping them begin an exciting new chapter. Thank you for partnering with us to make this transition smooth, positive, and memorable.

Retirement is not the end of a journey—it’s the beginning of a new one. Yesterday, we celebrated and bid farewell to our retiring teachers. Thank you for the countless lives you have touched, the lessons you have taught, and the inspiration you have shared. Your legacy will continue to live on in every student you helped along the way.
