☘What a week for awards at CCHS! We are so proud to announce that five of our performing arts students have placed at the New Jersey Teen Arts state competition!
🎭🎸Congratulations to Noah Barsocchi, Aaron Coar, and Paul Esmond who's scene from Hamlet took gold in the small theater category, and to Brendan Madden and John Roberts who took bronze in the guitar category! Noah, Aaron and Paul's performance also earned them a National Shakespeare Competition nod through the Thespian Festival.
🏆The Thespian Troupe and music classes sent 34 CCHS student performers to Camden County Teen Arts in March, and 15 moved on to the statewide competition that took place over the first week of June. Congrats to all students involved and their dedicated teachers!

🏅CCHS is incredibly proud to announce faculty members Dr. An Nguyen, Mrs. Bridget Blash and Mrs. Regina Knowlton were honored as winners of the Presidential AI Challenge this week in Washington D.C. at The White House!

🧫The trio of educators worked together to create "AI-Augmented Molecular Design: An AI-Durable Module for AP Biology." This year's CCHS AP Bio class, put their module into action! Earlier this spring the project won the regional competition for its innovative approach to integrating artificial intelligence into the classroom.

🇺🇸The incredible event brought together educators from across the country who had also earned this prestigious regional honor, to gather for the national announcment.

🧪More about the project: this module moves the AP Biology curriculum into the realm of modern drug discovery. Students act as lead scientists in a research startup, using the same technology that recently earned the Nobel Prize in Chemistry—AlphaFold—to predict and design protein structures. By engaging in this professional-level research, CCHS students are developing advanced scientific skills that were previously inaccessible at the high school level.

💻The module was designed to ensure that AI facilitates, rather than replaces, critical thinking. By intentionally working in areas where AI requires human oversight for accuracy, students must master biological pathways via literature survey before using technology to implement their hypotheses. Beyond the academic rigor, the project uses only free, browser-based tools to ensure that any student with a Chromebook can participate in scientific discovery.
