First Children Services We provide educational and therapeutic services to children throughout NJ & PA.

First Children Services offers educational and therapeutic services to children with a wide variety of disabilities. The First Children School is an approved private school for children with disabilities in Fanwood. We specialize in educating children who are medically fragile and/or have multiple disabilities. First Children Services also provides therapeutic services in the home, clinic, and school settings. We have ABA clinics in Roselle Park, NJ, Mount Laurel, NJ, Montgomeryville & Pottstown, PA. First Children Services provides educational services in school districts throughout New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Finally, our Transitions Program in Cherry Hill, NJ offers a small group educational program for students who have school refusal due to anxiety and/or depression.

Last week, we had the pleasure of welcoming 30 district professionals for an engaging conversation about Anxiety & Autism, exploring practical strategies to better understand and support the students we serve.

It’s a busy and exciting stretch for Team FCS!

From the Camden County Resource Fair and our Transitions Lunch & Learn in Cherry Hill to presenting at the NJASEP Conference, we’re making connections and sharing resources across our communities.

And the learning doesn’t stop there! Our teams are bringing professional development to Souderton, Boyertown, and Medford Lakes, followed by return visits to Perth Amboy and Plainfield!

Different communities. Different conversations. One shared mission: Life-Changing Outcomes for Exceptional Kids.

💙🧡 There’s something special about growing alongside the children you support.

For Ruth, RBT Lead, her journey at First Children Services has taken her from BT → RBT → RBT Sub → RBT Mentor → RBT Lead—but one thing has remained constant: the joy of watching clients grow.

From welcoming tiny 3-year-olds into the clinic to watching them become confident kindergartners ready for their next chapter, Ruth has had a front-row seat to some pretty incredible milestones. 🌱

Along the way, she’s also grown herself—learning across homes, camps, school districts, and our PA clinics while building relationships with colleagues and providers who have helped shape the professional she is today.

In Ruth’s words:
“What has stood out to me most is how incredible it is to watch our clients grow.”

We’re grateful for team members like Ruth who continue to learn, lead, and grow right alongside the children and families we serve. 💙

🍎💙 Back-to-School season is in the air at Transitions!

Our Transitions team in Cherry Hill kicked off the school year by welcoming a record group of parents, and we couldn’t be more excited about the energy surrounding the year ahead. 🧡

Transitions is all about helping students experiencing school refusal, chronic absenteeism, and mental health barriers reconnect with school and find a path forward—and every new school year brings new opportunities to make that happen.

We’re ready for a great year, excited to welcome new students, and grateful to have our families alongside us for the journey!

🏫 Do you have a student struggling to consistently make it through the school doors?

Tomorrow, we’re opening the doors to our Transitions Program in Cherry Hill for school leaders, Child Study Teams, counselors, and referral partners who want to learn more about an alternative path for students experiencing school refusal, chronic absenteeism, anxiety, and other mental health barriers to regular attendance.

Come tour the program, meet our team, and see how Transitions works alongside districts to help students reconnect with school and move toward a successful return.
