A week of curiosity, creativity, and discovery 🚀✨

Thank you to all our young explorers who joined us for Planet Quest at SJIC! From building rockets and making telescopes to exploring the mysteries of space, our campers turned big questions into hands-on learning.

We’re grateful to every student, instructor, and family who made this week such a memorable adventure. 🌎🪐

What began with bringing his sister to a math competition became a life-changing journey of coding, teaching, leadership, and growth.

After discovering SJIC, Shaurya stepped forward as a volunteer, became part of our team, and helped younger students explore coding and computer science. Along the way, he earned Silver Division in the United States Computing Olympiad and developed a deeper interest in AI, machine learning, and how technology works.

Now, Shaurya is heading to the University of Texas to study Computer Science, ready to learn alongside other STEM-focused students, professors, and mentors.

His advice to younger students:

“Look for new opportunities—there’s always something around you. Be a go-getter and do your best.”

This August, curious middle schoolers will step into the roles of inventors, engineers, and young entrepreneurs.

Led by Dov Gorman, campers will work in collaborative teams to identify a real-world problem, design an original solution, build a prototype, and create a business plan to bring their idea to life.

Students will experience the full innovation journey—from brainstorming and research to coding, testing, refining, and presenting their final ideas.

From his first chess lessons with Dov at age five to preparing for his next chapter at Harvard University, Jonah Kutikov’s journey has been shaped by curiosity, problem-solving, community, and a genuine love of learning.

Over the years, Jonah grew from a young chess student into a leader and mentor who now shares what he has learned with younger students. As he reflected:

“You are a solo player, but you always have other people to learn from.”

His advice to the next generation is just as powerful: Dive deep into what you love. Choose activities because they excite and challenge you—not simply because they look good on a résumé.

We are incredibly proud to have been part of Jonah’s journey from SJIC to Harvard, and we cannot wait to see the impact he creates next. 🎓♟️

Not just another computer camp—this is a week-long mystery waiting to be solved. 🔐💻

At Coding & Decoding Camp, students will crack secret codes, explore ciphers, uncover invisible-ink clues, complete mystery missions, and work together toward an exciting escape-room finale.

Along the way, they’ll strengthen the skills parents value most: logic, creativity, teamwork, and real-world problem-solving.
