Coding starts a lot earlier than most parents think. 💻✨

In Scratch Programming, students learn how coding works by actually building things — their own games, animations, and interactive projects using Scratch’s beginner-friendly drag-and-drop system.

They’re having fun, but behind the scenes they’re learning logic, sequencing, problem-solving, creativity, and real programming concepts.

Think projects inspired by Space Invaders, Geometry Dash, and more — except this time, they’re not just playing the game. They’re learning how to create it.

At SJIC, coding is about teaching students how to think through a problem, experiment with ideas, build something of their own, and figure out what to do when it doesn’t work the first time.

And there isn’t just one way to start.

🎮 Scratch Programming introduces coding through visual, creative projects.
⛏️ Minecraft Coding turns a game kids already love into a place to learn and create.
🕹️ Roblox Coding helps students understand the code behind interactive experiences.
🐍 Python Programming takes them into real text-based programming and stronger computational thinking.
🎯 Game Programming with Unity lets students move from playing games to understanding how games are actually built.
🔐 Cybersecurity Basics introduces the thinking behind digital systems, security, and protecting information.
🥽 Virtual Reality Games gives students another way to explore how technology can create interactive worlds.

And for students who want to go even further, SJIC also offers Coding Club and USACO opportunities.

The goal isn’t to turn every child into a programmer.

At SJIC, LEGO Engineering brings that curiosity into projects with moving parts, helping young builders explore the physics and math behind their creations. ⚙️

At SJIC, mathematics is taught as a progression—not a collection of disconnected lessons.

Our younger enrichment students begin with comparison, addition, subtraction, place value, mental math and number lines, supported by hands-on activities and games.

As they advance, students explore spatial puzzles, multiplication foundations, perimeter and area, polygons, angles and 3D geometry.

Competitive Mathematics takes that foundation further through challenging geometry, mental-math strategies, exponents, binary numbers, probability, integers, expressions and equations—with the goal of helping students become comfortable with competition-level problem-solving.

So, how can this help your child in the future?
Each level prepares students for the next kind of mathematical challenge—from understanding numbers and patterns to approaching advanced, unfamiliar problems with stronger reasoning.

That is the SJIC approach:
