When EWU alumnus Bill Beneke began searching for his birth family, he discovered a younger sister, Lisa Fairburn; who also happened to be an EWU alumna and psychology graduate.

This summer, the siblings reunited on campus to celebrate their shared Eastern connection, reconnect with the university community, and reflect on their remarkable story.

The College of Professional Programs (CPP) is hosting its 5th annual Halloween Pet Costume Contest this October! 🎃

Categories include: Iconic Person, Funniest, Scariest, Most Creative, & Best Duo (petz and their hoomans) costume. *You may submit to 2 categories max. The final voting competition round will include the semi-final winners for our Best in Show (overall best costume) category! Winners will receive props on social media! A special traveling trophy will be given to the school/program in CPP that has the most participation! 🏆

➡️ Who can participate: Students, faculty, and staff in CPP schools and programs, which includes psychology, social work (addiction studies, children’s studies, disability studies, aging studies), education, business, professional accounting, interdisciplinary studies, organizational leadership, etc. All photogenic critters welcome. 📸

➡️ How to participate: Scan the QR code to access the Photo Submission Form and upload individual pictures of your pet(s) dressed in their Halloween best, along with your first and last name, the name(s) of your pet(s), the award categories you're submitting for, and your school/program by Thursday October 14th at noon. If you have any questions, please contact [email protected].

✨We will accept submissions starting today. The semi-final voting link will soon be shared on our Insta & FB Story where you can vote for your favorites by category and the semi-final winners will be announced on Thursday, October 22nd! 🐾
