Car Rider door opens at 7:40.
🛑 Safety for students and staff is our top priority at Longfellow ELC. We offered “Meet the Teacher” night for our families to walk their child/children into school, meet their
teacher, and drop off supplies. Thank you for coming to see us Monday evening! It was wonderful seeing so many of our families and all of the new faces!
📍📍On the first day of school, parents must drop their child off in the car rider line. (That is if they don’t ride a bus.)
We are not permitting parents to walk into the school with their children on the first day of school. This allows our students to become familiar with their school without the anxiousness that can come from large crowds. Less chaos equals calmer students. We would love to see you in a few days after we have our procedures in place. You can contact us to have lunch with your child anytime after the first five days.
💚Although this may disappoint you, our primary job is to keep our students safe. The risk of injury, with multiple children and families crossing the parking lot, through our car rider line, is not a risk we are willing to take.
✅ Reminder: your student was sent home with a car rider nameplate at Meet the Teacher. Please make sure to clearly display that in your windshield upon pick up. Pre-Kindergarten pick-up is at 2:50 and Kindergarten pick-up is 2:55.
