OUR VISION AND PHILOSOPHY

At the core of our center is a strong belief that children thrive when they feel loved, safe and supported.

Our primary goal at Best Friend's is for each child to know they are loved by our staff, safe in their surroundings with us, and supported in their needs. Although we are a center based daycare, it is very important to us that our school has a family feel. Our owner, director, and multiple teachers have children of their own attend the school, and we pour our hearts and souls into the classrooms e

veryday to treat all our children as if they were our own. Our director has a passion for celebrating the diversity and culture that our students bring to our center, engaging our classrooms in exciting and joyful experiences as they learn to explore their world. Our owner is hands-on, with a passion for childcare excellence, businesses with a social mission, and fostering employee growth. We serve children from 8 weeks up to 7 years old, and we assist with remote learning for those children enrolled in school systems whose parents need a safe place for them during the day. Our main goal during COVID is that no child falls behind! We look forward to meeting you, and we look forward to raising our children together.

We have prepared an experiment activity for you!

It's a great way to familiarise your child with the lifecycle of a butterfly and share some interesting facts about the insect.🦋

1. Butterflies have four wings, not two as you may think.
2. The smallest butterfly is the Western Blue Pigmy, which is only 2cm across.
3. Butterflies need heat to be able to move. When you see them resting in the sunshine, they are warming up their wings so they can fly.
4. Butterflies can see colors that humans can’t.
5. Butterflies taste with their feet!

Leaf rubbings are a nature craft that's great for children to complete with little adult guidance. The idea is to find an interesting leaf, place it on a hard surface, put a piece of paper over it, and rub a crayon, colored pencil, or marker on the layered paper over the leaf to reveal a leaf rubbing. ✨

Today we celebrate World Oceans Day! 🐋🌊🐬

Oceans cover around 70% of our planet's surface. By protecting oceans we are protecting our future!

Here are some interesting facts about oceans:
🌊 You can find mountains and volcanoes on the bottom of oceans.
🌊 Earth is the only known planet that has oceans.
🌊 The biggest animal in the ocean is the blue whale. 🐋

Today we have prepared for you activity with a bit of physics! 🔭⚛️

All you need for it is a balloon and a metal spoon!

Have your child blow up the balloon and rub it on their head or carpet for at least 1 minute. Then slowly move the spoon to the outside of the balloon. The static electricity will create a “lightning” effect that's exciting but completely harmless. ✨
