It's a great way to familiarise your child with the lifecycle of a butterfly and share some interesting facts about the insect.🦋

1. Butterflies have four wings, not two as you may think.
2. The smallest butterfly is the Western Blue Pigmy, which is only 2cm across.
3. Butterflies need heat to be able to move. When you see them resting in the sunshine, they are warming up their wings so they can fly.
4. Butterflies can see colors that humans can’t.
5. Butterflies taste with their feet!

Today we have prepared for you activity with a bit of physics! 🔭⚛️

All you need for it is a balloon and a metal spoon!

Have your child blow up the balloon and rub it on their head or carpet for at least 1 minute. Then slowly move the spoon to the outside of the balloon. The static electricity will create a “lightning” effect that's exciting but completely harmless. ✨
