Yesterday was an incredible day!

I'd like to thank everyone who supported me during this campaign season. It was humbling to witness the effort of others who helped me get my message out to the public. Their passion and care were evident and I can't thank them enough for their time and friendship.

Look forward to rolling up my sleeves and getting to work.

Today's the day! I’d like to thank my friends and family who've encouraged me from the very beginning to run for a seat on the Chelsea School Board. I've been moved by so many expressions of support. When I opened my pediatric practice here in 2005, I knew I wanted to give back in some way and I hope to get a chance to do so. I love this community and humbly ask for your vote.

Two unexpected things happened during the campaign. For the very first time, the Chelsea Education Association decided to endorse candidates in this year’s school board election. Six of the eight candidates sought their endorsement. I'm deeply humbled to be one of the four candidates to receive this historic honor. My three children benefited from great teachers in our district. They were taught, mentored, coached, challenged and encouraged by the best. Teachers affect the culture of our schools and they deserve a board who will bring empathy and compassion to the issues that affect their ability to do their jobs effectively.

The second unexpected thing to happen was getting to know my fellow candidates. Over the last few months, I've spent a lot of time with Michelleforchelsea, Kate Henson for Chelsea Schools and Fox for Chelsea Schools and have enjoyed our many conversations. Chelsea Education Association also endorsed these three individuals. They would be exceptional board members. They’re thoughtful and smart and dedicated to our community. I'm grateful to know each of them. They’ve earned my vote.

For a long time, Judee Lonnemo was the person in the front office of the high school that every kid could count on--for just about anything.
