Hi! We did promise pictures a while back of our new sensory room. It took us a little more time than expected to fully arrange the room the way we wanted, but here it is now! We want to give a big thank you to Team Taylor Renovations LLC for their help with this project! Our kids love the outcome! We took advantage of the time to reorganize the way our daycare is set up, and that will be the subject of the next post.

We have big news! We have gotten approved for a grant for our special needs program, which involves remodeling a currently unused space into a quiet room to allow a place for our kids who are overstimulated to have a place to themselves. This room will be equipped with many things once it is finished, and the exciting thing is that the project is being done this week!
Look forward to pictures of the new room soon! We will send another update out towards the beginning of next month.

We are looking for a temporary staff to come on to the daycare business while I am recovering from delivering our new baby in July of this year. Feel free to pass this information on to anyone who you feel may be interested in getting started in a daycare career or is great with kids!
This would involve helping the children here learn and grow, lots of interaction with kids!
Ideally we would start the month before my due date and be around for a few months until I am fully up to speed. You would need to be qualified to work by yourself at times and with another teacher at others. If you fit well into our environment we would love to discuss staying on as a more permanent part time position. Feel free to reach out for more information!

Meet our Staff!

Meet Briana
Hi. I’m Briana, the owner of Kennicott Helping Hands Childcare. I hold an Early Childhood degree from Hope International University, and have worked in daycare centers for 3 years, (as well as plenty of babysitting and nursery experience as well!) I love working with children and specifically look for ways I can help them grow! I also enjoy being able to work at home and spend time with my daughter, Madeline, and husband, Andy.

Meet Marjie
Hi. I’m Marjie, the “Grandma” of the Kennicott Helping Hands Child Care team. I’ve worked with children in various settings for most of my life. I recently retired after teaching 40 years in elementary education, specializing in early reading intervention and hands-on math skills. Before that I was a lifeguard and swimming instructor, as well as a classroom aide. I enjoy kids of all ages and am relishing my newest role as a grandma. I look forward to working with your child.

A little History
The location of Kennicott Helping Hands Childcare has always had kids in mind. The previous owner invested greatly into the house and the land, developing it into the big house it is today. At its heyday, the program had 200 kids throughout the week, and had plenty of activities and play structures for the kids. That daycare ended its journey in 1999, being in business for over 10 years. With the rich history of the daycare and the equipment in place, we decided to start an in-home family daycare, and spent 2021 working hard to get the house and the equipment updated to today’s state standards. Though you may not see 200 kids running around the house anymore, we have refocused to be a smaller in-home daycare, with an allowance of 9 kids at a time, with the hopes of later this year being able to be licensed for 12.
