🎉Family Fun Friday🎉
Are you an educator who is wondering what you can do with the Governor’s Early Literacy Foundation (GELF) books you received?
Create a lending library! Not only is this a great way to connect with the families you serve, it’s a great way to support early literacy.
Reading is a lifelong skill that children will need to be successful in school, work, and life. Building this skill starts with building a love for literacy. Tennessee’s Read20 Book Club initiative is a fun way for children and their families to begin that journey together; and you can help!
A lending library is a simple and fun way to offer families opportunities to read or look at books with their children. If you would like more information or help setting up a lending library, please contact your local Family Engagement Coach.
To learn more about the Read20 Book Club and the importance of reading with children every day, please visit the About Read20 web page on the TN.gov website.

“Does your child have difficulty going from one activity to the next at home? Feel like it’s a constant battle to have her finish one activity without getting upset and causing some challenging behaviors?
This is the case for all children at one point in time or another and can be even more difficult if your child has a disability.
A great way to help your child transition at home is to use picture cards to show what activities happen in what order. You can do this by setting out many cards that lay out your child’s day or break it down into two or three cards to help your child if they have a hard time with several steps in a row.
This strategy creates predictability that is huge for children to be successful each day! Reach out to your local Family Engagement coach from CCR&R to help you set this up and use it in your home!”
