Catholic Football

Catholic recently celebrated an impressive 2024 season. The Rams won every game but one -- with 4 of those victories coming down to the final possession🏈. An exciting year indeed. Richard Haynes, a former recruiter and assistant coach for both Kirby Smart and Nick Saban, was the guest speaker. Successful football is demanding -- it requires courage, determination and toughness. These young men are to be commended for putting together a season of which they can always be proud💪. The 2024 Catholic football team made great strides in helping return the program to its tradition of excellence.🏈Thanks to the players, cheerleaders, coaches, parents and everyone else who helped make it a special season. Go Catholic!

The improvement over the course of the season was off the chart. Given its physical nature, successful football requires a great deal of discipline and courage. Hats off to these young men who worked extremely hard and created a memorable season. Several 8th graders will soon be contributing heavily on Friday nights☘️. And a solid core of players return next season. The future is bright. Go Catholic!

"You can't win 'em all"-- Catholic came up short against a solid Meigs County program, dropping to 5-1🏉. Otherwise, it was a beautiful night under the lights. Notre Dame served as a wonderful host, and the 8th grade players and cheerleaders were recognized pregame. While some of our past Catholic teams may have had more experience, size and strength--we've had few teams with as much fight and heart♥️. These young men have made tremendous strides. Go Catholic!

Catholic moves to 5-0 with big win "under the lights"🏉!! Beautiful night for football.The young men continue to fight hard and impress. Thanks Erin Cambell for the great photos and thanks to our awesome Cheerleaders.🙂

Catholic prevails 6-0 in a defensive slugfest to remain undefeated.🏉The Rams are 4-0. It is a standing tradition if the starting defense earns a shutout- donuts follow🥯. The boys were well aware😅

Catholic moves to 3-0 with an impressive win over Normal Park. It was Catholic's highest offensive output of the season, scoring 30 points. The final score-- Rams 30, Lightening 12.The boys are playing good, solid football🏈🏈 and having fun.

Catholic moves to 2-0 with another thrilling last-second TD🏈, upends Grace 20-12. The no-quit "cardiac kids" were down 12-6 at the half. Tied the game in the 3rd, and then scored with 13 seconds left to get the win. Home crowd, cheerleaders and the legendary Mark Simpson announcing -- Perfect night!
