STEM School welcomed over 3,000 elementary students to the 2026 STEM Jubilee this week! Students explored over 150 STEM and STEAM activities, each run by STEM School, Ivy Academy, and Signal Mountain Middle School students. Thanks to our partners at the Creative Discovery Museum, our four Senior Student Leaders, and everyone that made this event a success!

Congratulations to STEM III students Dawson, Mason, June, and Micah for winning Hamilton County School's Great Toy Challenge, placing first among the 76 applicants with their innovative, original toy "The Busiest Board". Through STEM School’s collaboration with Siskin Children’s Institute, the STEM III students created an adaptive busy board for children with special needs. This is the 2nd year in a row that STEM students have won the Great Toy Challenge under the guidance of STEM III teacher Ms. Wineland! Thank you also to the Public Education Foundation for creating meaningful engineering challenges for students across the district.

HUGE thank you to Smoothie King!! This morning, they were extremely generous in donating smoothies for our amazing staff in honor of Teacher Appreciation Week. They brought us 3 of their most popular flavors, and they were all delicious!! If you're looking for a smoothie, definitely consider Smoothie King in Hixson. STEM Juniors and Seniors shined at the 2026 “A Night in Disguise” STEM Gala! Students were greeted by “paparazzi” as they walked the red carpet for a night of fabulous food, music, dancing, and fun!

STEM School’s parnership with Chattanooga State allows students to explore the fine arts through classes like Symphonic Band and Concert Choir. Four freshmen STEM students performed in the Chatt State Symphonic Band Spring Concert last week, showing off their musical talents!

The arrival of Spring also means it’s time for House Week and the Faculty/Student Dodgeball Game, with special performances by the new STEM Pep Squad! Also, congratulations to the 2026 Spirit Stick Winner, House Einstein!

STEM students displayed evidence of their critical thinking, collaboration, and innovation during the 2026 STEM Showcase, displaying projects from PBLs and classes across all four grades. Families could also bid in silent auction items and help the robotics team raise money for Worlds by buying duct tape for affixing Mr. Karas to the wall!
