🐹✨ Meet Jelly, Our Class Pet! ✨🐹

Hope City Academy is excited to officially introduce the cutest member of our classroom family—Jelly! 💛

Jelly joined our class on February 26th and has already become a favorite friend among our students. More than just a cute face, Jelly helps us learn important life skills every day!

Through caring for Jelly, our students practice:

🐾 Empathy – understanding and responding to the needs of another living creature
🥕 Animal Care – learning how to provide proper food, water, exercise, and a clean habitat
⭐ Responsibility – taking ownership of daily tasks and routines
🤝 Teamwork – working together to make sure Jelly is happy and healthy
💙 Kindness & Compassion – showing gentle care and respect for all living creatures

Jelly quickly became an important part of our classroom community, bringing smiles, curiosity, and valuable learning opportunities to our students each day.

Our little explorers have been investigating water in different states! 🧊❄️🧸

We froze toys and let the kids discover different ways to melt the ice and rescue them! This hands-on activity encouraged problem-solving, creativity, and teamwork as the kids deduced and attempted multiple methods to free the frozen toys. Watching them smile and remain excited and engaged as they "saved" their frozen friends was the best part!

Such an exciting few weeks in Purple Class at Hope City Academy! 🦋✨

Over the past 5 or so weeks, the children have had the opportunity to observe the complete butterfly life cycle firsthand—from tiny caterpillars 🐛 to chrysalides/cocoons, and finally beautiful butterflies! 🌱➡️🦋

Last week, we celebrated by releasing our butterflies outside and watching them spread their wings and fly away. The children loved caring for them, observing each stage of change, and learning all about God’s amazing creation through this hands-on experience. 💜

☀️💦 Hope City kiddos had so much fun during Water Day today! During outside time, our students enjoyed splashing, laughing, and cooling off in the sunshine with their friends. 🌈🩵 We explored how water travels different paths when poured through funnels and wheels!

Last week, our Purple Class began learning all about foods that come from trees! 🌳

Our 2–4 year olds are exploring how some of our favorite healthy foods grow on trees and where they come from before they make it to our tables.

Through stories, hands-on activities, discussions, and play, we have been learning about nature and healthy eating at the same time!

Some foods we are learning about:

• Pears 🍐
• Peaches 🍑
• Cherries 🍒
• Bananas 🍌
