Car seat safety is NOT a parenting preference.
It’s not up for debate. It’s not “your choice, your rules.”
It’s life or death. Period.
Every time you buckle your child in incorrectly, or worse, not at all, you gamble with their life. Car seats are not optional. They are the bare minimum standard of protection our kids deserve.
If that makes some people uncomfortable, so be it. My child’s safety is worth more than someone else’s opinion.

Please, please take your child’s (and your) safety seriously. A child is dead and another is fighting for their life because they weren’t restrained properly. The mother was charged as well as the other driver. As a parent, it is your responsibility to make sure your children are restrained properly in the car.

The child's mother and an infant remain in the hospital with life-threatening injuries, LMPD said.

It is so important to follow manufacturers guidelines. This was preventable. All riders should be of the appropriate age or at the least, properly restrained of you’re going to disregard the age restriction. This is local.

We still have a while before it gets cold in the south, but plan ahead. SOME well fitting, thin fleece suits are safe but most are not.
🚨 Car seat safety reminder 🚨
As the weather gets colder, it might be tempting to put your baby in a cute, fluffy snowsuit before buckling them into the car seat. But did you know bulky coats and snowsuits can actually make car seats dangerous? ❄️
All that padding makes it seem like the straps are tight, but in a crash, it compresses, leaving your baby too loose in the seat. This can put them at serious risk.
✅ The safest way: dress your baby in thin, warm layers, buckle them in snugly, and then lay a blanket or use a car seat–safe cover over the straps for warmth.
Keeping them safe is always worth it!

Canadian seats only: labeling error. Not a functional issue.
🚨 RECALL ALERT 🚨
🇨🇦 CANADIAN CONSUMERS 🇨🇦
Evenflo has issued a recall for the Revolve360 Slim car seats due to a labeling error.
👉 The affected seats have incorrect installation labels in French, which could lead to misuse.
👉 The recall does not mean the seat is unsafe if installed correctly, but parents/caregivers should contact Evenflo for correct labels.
✅ If your seat is part of the recall, Evenflo will provide corrected labels at no cost.
✅ Always register your car seat so you get notified directly of future recalls!
Keeping kids safe isn’t just about the seat itself—it’s about making sure instructions are accurate and followed. 💛

Are you considering moving your child into a booster? Here are the minimums (with very rare exceptions) your child needs to reach before considering the switch. When you move your child from a harness to a booster, you are trusting them with their own safety. Take the time to make sure they are ready. Don’t rush to the next stage just because they meet the minimums.

You wouldn’t put your child in a snowsuit in July - it’s not the right fit for the season. And just like we dress kids for the weather, we need to buckle them for their stage.
But nearly 24% of kids are moved to a booster seat before they’re actually ready. A staggering 94% are using only the adult seatbelt before it fits them safely.
Each car seat stage is designed to protect kids in specific ways based on their size, age, and development. Skipping ahead too soon doesn’t make them more grown up - it just makes them less protected.
Don’t rush the transition. Car seat safety isn’t about milestones, it’s about safety, fit, and protection.
