Fraternity breaks their record for most money raised for Erlanger Sigma Chi at UTC broke their previous record set in 2016 by raising $33,500 for the Children's Hospital at Erlanger.

The UTC 21-22 school year is officially over. It was an awesome year for the Delta Theta chapter of the Sigma Chi Fraternity at UTC.

The Chapter strived for excellence throughout this year and concluded with a third “Fraternity of the Year” trophy. Their success would not have been possible without the support of their Exec Team, the Alumni Chapter, and their dedication to act as truly honorable men throughout the year.

A special thanks to all of you who helped with Derby Days & the Golf Scramble! The guys Beat the record set in 2016. We toured Erlanger Thursday April 28th, and handed the CEO of the Erlanger Chrildren’s Hospital a check for $33,500!

The guys are excited for next year & the 75th Reunion on May 14th @ the Westin!

Happy 72nd Founders Day! Dan Wade presents framed original sheet music from “The Sweetheart of Sigma Chi” to the house.

On May 25th the Delta Theta Chapter of Sigma Chi Fraternity will celebrate the 72nd anniversary of its founding with a "Founders Day" event at the chapter house on Siskin Drive.

Event organizers said the event will kick-off at 5 p.m. as hundreds of brothers who have left their legacy on the chapter will gather and renew their bonds of fellowship.

Food and drink will be furnished by none other than Lawrence Mills, the proprietor of 2503 Station Grill. His new culinary venture has already left an indelible mark with the thousands in our city who are aficionados of smoking beef, pork and chicken. In addition, 2503 Station Grill has in the recent past hosted Delta Theta events, providing unparalleled hospitality.

Music for "Founders Day" will be provided by the band "No Big Deal," fronted by Dennis Massenagle. The six-piece band has gained a large following over the years and play classic rock and roll with which brothers old and young will be familiar. The band will fire up at 6 p.m. EDT and play until the brothers allow them to leave.

"Reach out to your pledge brothers and give them a personal invitation to attend," said Stanley Stout, President of the Chattanooga Alumni Chapter. "We want this event to be over the top.”

Delta Theta chapter was founded May 16-17, 1947. Among its founding members were Lee Anderson, former editor and publisher of the Chattanooga News-Free Press, and Malone Everett, who had a long and distinguished career in the insurance business. Anderson was the first president of Delta Theta chapter.

Other notable alumni of the chapter are William "Mickey" Barker, former Chief Justice of the Tennessee Supreme Court; Dr. Joel Cunningham, former vice chancellor of the University of the South; and Gavin Maloof, former co-owner of the Sacramento Kings NBA franchise and owner of The Palms Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

More outstanding work done by Greeks on the UTC campus. This $10K+ check to the Children’s Hospital Foundation tallies over $50K the active Sigma Chi chapter has raised and donated to the hospital over the last 4 years. Not an insignificant amount for undergraduate students.

Thanks also to our wonderful sorority partners for helping to make our Derby Days event an even greater success year after year!

A huge thank you to the members of Sigma Chi Fraternity at The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Their recent event raised more than $32,000 in support of our hospital and our kids!

Anyone else see a similarity? Our house even built to accommodate a cupola addition when the mortgage is retired.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas at the Sigma Chi house. We hope everyone is enjoying the holidays!

Undergraduate brothers had a great time painting faces and hosting a few games at the Boys and Girls Club Halloween Carnival last week. It was a cross-council event between all Greek organizations at UTC.

Thanks goes out to alumni, actives, and pledges who came by Ted Futrelle's (Delta Theta '72) visitation last evening. Not only did he leave a legacy with his own home he built by hand, but he left his mark on the new Sigma Chi House. Ted is shown at left going over the plans of the house during construction with Strauss foreman Buddy at right. May your soul rest in peace Brother.
