Marty's Center

A specialized inclusive program for children with hearing impairments, speech/language impairments, and regular education children ages 18 mo - 6 years.

The goal of Marty's Center is to have each and every hearing-impaired, speech and language-impaired and typical child on the age level primarily in the area of speech and language skills when they leave the program and enter their home zone school when they are ready or for Kindergarten. Marty's Center is a unique and high-quality educational setting for children with hearing impairments, speech a

nd language impairments, and typical children. Marty's Center is dedicated to development of listening, speech, language, literacy, and communication so that children can function competitively within the community. Hearing-impaired children require constant auditory, speech, and language stimulation during all waking hours in order to be able to communicate effectively. Marty's Center provides a rich and nurturing learning environment that enhances every child's development of language, cognitive, and social abilities. Our program equips children with pre-academic and academic skills necessary to be enrolled in a mainstream elementary school setting. The program has a comprehensive pre-readiness academic curriculum that includes other subject areas such as math, art, science, and social studies which are incorporated into the language-based curriculum. Children with and without language impairments are encouraged to reach their optimum potential through hands-on learning in a nurturing environment.

Want to be a hero???? We have 2 students who are in need of scholarship to attend Marty's Center. One child has Down's Syndrome and is hearing impaired in one ear. This family of 5 is committed to their child's education and drives 30 minutes each way for him to attend Marty's Center. The other child is hearing impaired in one ear with a cochlear implant and has autism. The mother is a single mom and is very committed to his education. The first five years are the most critical in developing their language foundation in order to succeed in kindergarten and beyond. We're so honored to be a recipient of a $6,000 grant from Arby's Foundation that will help our students reach their optimal potential and prepare them for success in elementary school and beyond! Marty's Center is overwhelming grateful to receive this again this year, making this the second year in a row! The funds were used to purchase five new iPads and multiple Osmo programs, including the Little Genius starter kits, the Genius starter kits, and the four different Early Mathematics and Elementary Mathematics starter kits. These programs push our students to think outside the box, help with visual/perception skills and provide alternate ways to learn that spark creativity. 👩‍🏫

Our sensory path is completed and the kids are loving it! It is to help children with sensory issues and always helps all children. Thank you Arby’s Foundation for the funds for the stencils. Thank you Elder’s Ace Hardware for the paints! We are so grateful!

Oaklyn started here 2 week’s ago. She is 2 years old and not talking. She said her first verbal word yesterday and said it again today. Way to go Oaklyn! ❤️

This is a boy that we had when he was 3 years old and had limited speech and language. But when he graduated several years ago you would never know he had delays. He has beautiful speech and language and doing excellent at his school. He is hearing impaired.
